Chapter V

Tomorrow is the day where Karasuno will have their first practice match with Aoba Johsai, so right now Daichi decide to discuss about the position for tomorrow right before entering the class. "Now, concerning the positions for the practice match, these will be our positions for tomorrow." Daichi said, showing the board as the team sat in the gym.

WS (Left): Tanaka

S: Kageyama

MB: Hinata

MB: Tsukishima

WS (Right): Sawamura

WS: Ennoshita

"I want to use Kageyama and Hinata as a set," Daichi said and the duo looked at each other with annoyed look on their face making Reiji sweat drop when he saw this. "and since Tsukishima is one of our few tall players, I want to see how you'll fight against Seijoh," Daichi continued and Tsukishima replied with monotone tone, "Yes."

Reiji noticed that Yamaguchi frowned and Reiji can't help but feel sympathy for him since he the only one first year who will sit on the bench instead joining with other first years.

"Yamaguchi-kun, don't worry about it. At least, you can use this kind of position where you can create new move for the team in the future." Reiji said, putting his hand on Yamaguchi's shoulder and give him a support making Yamaguchi feel happy a little bit. "Thank you, Shimizu-san." Yamguchi thank to the male manager who give him a smile for return.

"You're using Hinata in a position where the height are matters?" Tanaka asked. "Middle blocker? I'm in the same position as the lanky jerk Tsukishima?" Hinata asked in confusion and surprise, to think that he has the same position as the certain beanstalk.

"Well, it's a good thing don't you think?" Reiji started and everyone look at the male manager in confusion.

"Well, being middle blocker, the player can defend against the opponents' offense and score some points, mainly through the quick attacks and furthermore, play as a decoy too so the player can draw the opponents' blockers away." Reiji explained and the members stared at their male manager in amazed about how their male manager know such as thing.

"How about Wing Spiker and Setter?" Hinata asked and Reiji shrug.

"Well, Setter of course be the control tower that tosses spikes and organizes defense like how we saw Kageyama-kun playing and Wing Spiker is an all-around and well-balanced player who attacks the core of opponents." Automatically, Reiji answered with no problem making everyone stared at the male manager more amazed than before. "Amazing, how do you know?" Sugawara ask and Reiji smile sheepishly.

"W-Well, I make a research yesterday so why not?" Reiji explain and can't stand for the staring he receives from the members, Reiji quickly cover his face with his hand, feeling blush perform around his cheeks making everyone can't help but thinking how cute their male manager as always.

"Like he said, there are other exclusively defensive positions too, but for now, those are all." Daichi said, knowing that there's one position left to tell them but the member is not here yet. "Listen here, Hinata! You are going to be the ultimate decoy!" Kageyama exclaimed, pointing toward the orange ball-of-sunshine who jump up in excited.

"The ultimate!" Then he paused as if he realizes something. ".....decoy? There's something uninspiring about that," Hinata continued, sulking.

"We'll let you score a lot using quicks and let the blockers focus on you. That's when the others come into play," Kageyama explained and he smirked. "Big guys like Tsukishima will fall like idiots to your movements," Kageyama continued which made Tsukishima a little bit irritated. "That'll feel good, won't it?" As soon as Kageyama said that, Hinata back from sulking to excitement making Reiji chuckle at the sudden change expression.

"Are you calling Tsukki an idiot?!" Yamaguchi shout, defense his best friend but,

"Shut up, Yamaguchi."

"Sorry, Tsukki."

And this make Reiji can't help but sweat drop, feeling bad for his freckled friend who just want to defense his best friend only to be shut down like that. "On the other hand, if you're not effective, know that the other attacks will all fail." Kageyama added darkly and this make Hinata tensed up. "Hey, don't put so much pressure on him," Daichi whispered and Reiji glance at Hinata who murmured, "All fail... all fail.... All fail..." Making Reiji can't help but feel sympathy for the ball of sunshine.

"What about blocking though? Even if he can jump high, the taller players will reach the highest point of their jump faster." Tanaka ask, still confuse about the fact that Hinata being Middle Blocker, despite the height. "I think I get it why." Reiji said and they glance at the male manager for explanation.

"If we put Hinata-kun as Middle Blocker, it's not for to smack down the opponent's spikes but to touch them. With Hinata-kun's crazy reflexes and speed, he can touch the opponent's spikes, and slow down the momentum of the ball. That's where we can set the pace to our advantage, and make counterattack." Reiji started and once again, everyone was amazed at the explanation from the male manager. "I think it's not going to go that smoothly right off the bat but we can try it, right? Maybe we'll learn something as we go along...." Reiji finish and Daichi who is standing beside the male manager, ruffling Reiji's hair with proud smile on his face making Reiji whine softly at the sudden contact.

"Shimizu-kun's right. Besides, it's just practice match, after all." As the conservation continue, Reiji glance at Hinata who seems murmured something make Reiji walk towards him.

"Um, Hinata-kun? Are you al-?"

"Yes! I'll do my best!"

Hinata suddenly exclaimed, making the male manager jumped in all sudden. "I'll score lots of points! I'll be a decoy! I'll serve! Block! Quick! Everything!"

Hearing this making Reiji immediately panic as he hurriedly put his hands on Hinata's shoulders.

"H-Hinata-kun, please calm down for a moment!" Reiji exclaimed, wanting to calm Hinata down but....

"AAAHH, SAWAMURA-SAN, HINATA-KUN! HINATA-KUN HAD BLEW A FUSE!!!"

The next day, everyone had lined up outside the gym with their things. Reiji saw Hinata swayed back and forth perilously making the male manager walk toward him. "H-Hinata-kun, are you alright?" Reiji ask worriedly, immediately know what will happen toward Hinata once they entered the bus.

"I.... I'm alright..."

Reiji heard Hinata mumbled which made the male manager become more worried. "Are you sure? If you feel that you want to vomit, open the window alright?" Reiji instructed and Hinata nodded, weakly saying 'Ossu...' before Reiji rub Hinata's back. "Is everyone ready?" Daichi ask and everyone enter the bus while Reiji help Hinata get in the bus before take a seat beside Kiyoko.

"Is Hinata alright?" Kiyoko asks. "I don't know but with the look on his face, I think he will vomit at any time." Reiji said, glancing at Hinata who sit behind with Tanaka beside him. "I hope he's fine...." Reiji mumble before look forward, putting headphone on and start listen music.

As everyone doing their own stuff while Reiji enjoying the music, everyone startled when out of sudden,

"STOP THE BUS!"

Everyone quickly turn around, to see Hinata who had passed out with all the vomits that came out from Hinata was on Tanaka's sweater pants.

'Oh my...this is worse than we all expected....'
