"ANGE ROBERTSON. MISS ROBERTSON PLEASE HEAD OVER TO PLATFORM 3B FOR YOUR TRAIN," the speakers over me boomed as I sprinted to the nearest platform, bag in hand, cellphone to ear. Imagine sacrificing everything fo— My thoughts were interrupted by a pole hitting me straight in the face. The impact was like those cartoons you see on TV, where the stupid character hits their head on a pole because they weren't watching where they were going and end up cursing a pole. Stupid right? But I did it anyways. "Watch where you're going you stupid pole!" I snarled, sizing up the pole. Which...Happened to be a man. Just like those cartoons? Nah.

The man looked down at me with a puzzled expression which read "????" I stepped back, looking up and apologetic. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled.

"Huh what for?" The man asked, looking just as puzzled. Oh great...Another dense man. I thought to myself, grabbed my bags and hurried off to my train. I heard the man call out to me but I ignored him. I'd have had enough embarrassment for one day!

I reached the train in one piece, found my seat and rummaged through my bag looking for my lip gloss. I guess I left the zipper open because the entire bag was a mess, hell I forgot I packed more than half of this shit! Like books?! What were you thinking Ange. I held my face in my hands, feeling the train start motion.

My thoughts were interrupted as someone tapped my shoulder from behind. I turned around to see the dense man sitting beside a giggling girl. She kept pestering him but he didn't seem to mind. "Yes?" I choked, upon closer inspection he was pretty attractive.

"My book, can I have it back?" He stated blandly.

I blinked and realized those books had fallen into my bag upon the impact, I blushed clearly embarrassed and handed him back the book. "Going somewhere?" I asked.

"New Residence."

"Huh...With only books?!"

He pointed at the cheeky girl beside him, "She brings the extra stuff. I don't need much."

I stared at him like he was talking Spanish, but I know Spanish, but I was still so fucking lost.

"HIYA!"

I froze as the cheeky girl karate chopped my skull.

"Heyyyyyy, you know Cenna here? He's stupid, don't worry about it." She immediately turned away and faced the dense man who I figured was named Cenna. "Hey hey Cenna, your like amazing, don't worry. Veve is always gonna cheer you on!" I felt my jaw drop, this girl just used herself in third person and just said he was stupid. I started doubting who was actually the stupid one of the two but shrugged it off and went back to facing forward, scrolling through my phone.

I glanced back ever so often only to see Veve poking away at Cenna's cheeks while he was enveloped into his book. I sighed, something just didn't seem right. I felt as if I'd seen Cenna before, even the Veve girl. Nothing was making sense. I gave up, slipped on my headphones and buried my head in my book. I hate moving.

The train reached a stop. I immediately gathered my bag and hurried out the exit. Kyle said he'd wait at my new apartment. It was a small apartment complex from what Kyle had told me. I looked around and spotted the building immediately. double floored, 5 residence rooms and under was where you'd park your car. Kyle said my door number was going to be 667, which meant I was stuck right between everyone, sigh isn't this perfect? I climbed up the stairs, counted the door numbers, 665, 666, 667- my door. I pulled out my keys and took a deep breath. Okay Ange, new home, new start. I whispered to myself and swung open the door.

"Yo."

I blinked twice, staring at the rando sweeping MY living room floor as she waved and continued, "Yo, yo yo? Um, hello? Ange?" She was right up in my face while my brain desperately tired to figure out what was going on.

"Oh, um...Hello? Sorry but who are you?" My voice squeaked at the end, displaying my confusion mixed with a tad bit of fear.

"I'm the residence manager here; Helen. You know the lady who sells these rooms to y'all. You showed up an hour before I expected, I was just finishing up the cleaning." She smiled softly.

I looked around the apartment, one large living room with a joint in kitchen. Two medium bedrooms and a bathroom. It was pretty spacey considering I was going to live alone.

"Make yourself at home, I'll drop by later to introduce you to the neighbours and show you around the complex." Helen beamed and saw herself out, leaving the broom behind for me to keep. After she left, my legs gave out and I flopped down, hugging my knees. This is a pain. I wanna go home, I don't like it here. I thought to myself. I rummaged through my bag, pulled out my cell and dialled away to my older brother.

"Hello?" He picked up.

"Jason I wanna come back home." I whined.

"Aw, come on Ange. That apartment is good for you. You're so much closer to your college now, plus it'll be hella peaceful!" He cheered from the other side. He felt so far away, my eyes began to water.

"I'm..." I gasped for air, trying to hold back my tears. "I'm going to go unpack. Bye."

After I finished unpacking I dropped by the managers office, Helen greeted me with open arms.

"Darling Ange! How was your trip here? I heard from you brother it was what, like 4 hours? That must have been dreadful dearie. Want me to show you around the complex?" She chimed. She was so talkative and energetic, I wished I was like her. I nodded in approval and followed her to the apartments.

"Okay! So first we got room 665. Toma lives there with his wife and twin daughters. They are rarely in town but when they drop by the little girls are ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL." She squealed, making it very clear that she loved twins, let alone twin girls. I couldn't help noticed that Toma's door was really dusty. But then again the family rarely drops by so that makes sense.

"Next is room 666. Jasper lives there, hella nightowl that kid. I also believe he goes to the same collage as you. Also, I personally feel like Jas lives outside in the hallway more than his own apartment but that's just my observation." She shrugged and kept walking. I tired my best to ignore the skull and crossbones around the number plate "666".

We passed my room; 667 and went off to 668. Helen skipped up ahead and kicked the door. I took a step back, worried what was going to happen. Only to my surprise Veve swung open the door with her foot, trying to hold the curlers in her hair.

"GOSH MANAGER. WHAT. THE. FUCK. DO. YOU. WANT?!" She shrieked placing her hands on her hips. "My bike is properly parked if that's what your here for. The broken window from earlier is repaired too, and I got rid of the nail polish stained from the floor too.

"Bitch...I came to introduce your new neighbour." Helen snarled. This was the first time I'd ever since the manager look this pissed off in the short time I was here. Veve glanced over at me.

"Omgggg, you're the klutz girl who bumped into Cenna at the trains earlier!" She blurted out and giggled. "Well this is funny! Cenna lives one room over, thought he like NEVER leaves his room and like never lets anyone in. I personally gotta hop in through the balcony hehe," She smiled sweetly and winked. It was like she transformed to a completely different person. I brushed it off, trying to not let it bother me.

"Um, I guess that's everyone. I'm gonna call it a night. Thanks manager." I mumbled and hurried off into my apartment, closing and locking the door behind me. This is gonna be pain...
