Jawan's P-O-V

I looked at the tray she left on the table and banged my fist on the table. Delilah, Jason, Heather, and Steven looked at me.

"What's wrong, Jawan," Heather asked.

I shook my head, "Nothing. I'm fine."

"Are you upset about Aria?" Delilah questioned.

"No. I'm perfectly okay with her just leaving me here for some player."

"Yeah. He's really mad," I heard Steven whisper.

"No I'm not!" I yelled. "I'm fine. Really."

They all turned around wide-eyed in shock, but stopped asking questions.

"I got to go."

I got up with my tray and dumped it. Then walked through the double doors and went into the music room. I took a seat on the piano bench.

"Jawan?"

"Mr. Cole?"

"Hello. You're here early."

"I know. I just wanted to come here to, you know, think and stuff..." I said placing my hands on the keys.

"Oh. Well, want to talk about what's on your mind?"

"Why does it hurt so much?"

"What?"

"A crush. Why does it have to hurt so much? Why does it hurt when that special girl goes to be with someone else when there is nothing really going on between you and that girl?"

Mr. Cole smiled, "Is that special girl the same girl you wrote that song about?"

I nodded. Feeling foolish that I even wrote the song. To think she would actually go for a guy like me.

"Well, it only hurts because you let it hurt. You let your feelings take over instead of that brain of yours. Crushes tend to be able to bring that out of you."

I played a ballad on the keys. Clearing my thoughts and only thinking of the notes that flowed from out of the piano.

I saw Mr. Cole smile then he went back into his office. I smiled then continued to play.
