I look down at my arm. My (F/C) hoodie's left sleeve was torn right off and red was spotting through the bandage. 

"I don't think even a monster would believe me." I mumble.  He chuckles.

"Kid, I know more than you think." He says as he lazily sits on the opposite side of the sofa. I push myself more into the arm rest, trying to keep a distance. 

I look at the wall as I explained everything," A flower attacked us after we....." I remember being chased up the mountain.

"We?" he pushes. He seemed a little less laid back and more defensive when I mentioned a flower.

"Oh, w-we got lost on a mountain, next thing you know, we fell down a hole. The flower attacked and we kept running because a goat monster was chasing us. That's it...."

"Tell me more about this flower." he says.

"Well they were small and yellow. They threw petals at us. But they weren't normal petals, they felt like knives. " I describe.

"I think you ran into an old buddy of mine,'' he says with a weird look on his... um.. skull face? I turn towards him. "You might not want do near the guy."

"No duh." I respond, referencing my left arm. It became awkwardly silent for a few minutes after that, giving me time to think more and more. The more I thought, the more one question kept prodding my mind.

 Why did he save us?

"Well, I couldn't just leave you guys out there to freeze, bud."

 I jump a little and turn to the skeleton.  He stared at me with that same creepy grin. Did I just talk out  loud? 

"Hey, relax. Its not like I'm a monster," he chuckles. I give a faint smile, before quickly stopping myself.
It grew quiet for a few minutes.

Suddenly, there's a creaking upstairs......
