"i think she's very mean, i always hear her yelling at kai through the phone. seems like she's toxic." she says sadly.
"how'd he meet her?"
"she's one of roberts cousins, they met at a house party."
"and you know this how..." i ask curiously.
"me and alejandro are close, kinda like besties. he tells me important stuff about kairi, stuff i should probably know." she says proudly.
"i like how you care about him."
"he's my best friend, how couldn't i?"
"let me tell you something. i had a friend who lived here when i was in california, we talked a lot, but then i moved and i was stupid not to tell him. i don't think he really minded since he stopped talking to me when he got a girlfriend, guess he didn't need me anymore.." i say sadly.
she comes over to me and gives me a hug.
"hey he's stupid for not talking to you, you seem like such a good person. and hey! we're best friends now, you have me." she says.
i smile and kiss her on the cheek.
"y/n, maiya, come down and eat!" maiya's mom says.
we headed down to only be greeted by two smiley moms.
"well it seems you guys had fun catching up?" i say.
"yes! it's so fun to finally see your best friend again? what about yours remember y/n?" my mom says.
i really miss kc. it won't be the same anymore.

then we continued talking and ate.
few minutes later.
"hey mom is it ok if y/n stays over, i wanna get to know her more." maiya asks as she does the dishes.
"yes please i wanna get to know her more." i ask pleading.
"fine, only because i let the boys stay over." she says in agreement.
"YES!" me and maiya say at the same time.
