MORNING
━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━The night of the charity
event was finally here.Ever since the last time she had seen the Shelby's, she counted down the days until this special Thursday arrived. The excitement she felt was the reason for her not eating and sleeping properly the night before.
Y/n woke up at 8am, which was half an hour earlier than usual. She knew, that Sawyer and the maids wouldn't be awake for the next hour or so, which gave her time to walk around her room with her nightdress still on.
She cleaned up her bed before she snuck out her room without any pair of shoes on. Her destination wasn't far away: she craved the peaceful view the balcony offered her. Said place was at the end of the hallway to her right. She quietly walkes to the balcony, standing just at the entry to enjoy the view.
The sound of fresh leafs playing with the wind reminded her of last Friday, the time she spent with John. He made her smile grew wider than she liked to admit. The past few days had been filled with him and his cousin playing with her mind, creating a love - hate relationship with the thought of them. But for now, she felt at peace, relaxed for a bit and letting her mind slowly fade.
She completely forgot about the reality that she had to face later on. Y/n was aware of the fact that the past night would mark her last night at the Saywer mansion. No matter how the day will end, y/n had to look for a new, unfamiliar bed to sleep in. Either that, or she had to face the same faith her parents had to suffer from all these years ago.
On one hand, she felt happy to finally leave the hell she was trapped in, no matter if it was death or fleeing. But the other hand held anxiety and doubt in it. She wasn't ready to lose her life or being taken advantage of.
Y/n slowly walked back to her room, checking if she had packed everything important that she might need for the future. One could never be sure enough.
At 9am, y/n heard a loud groan from her boss's room, signalising her that the Shelby - wounds started to show their true pain. Saywer awoke later than usual. Even if it was just 15 minutes late, it showed a massive change in behaviour from him.
Y/n quickly fled in her room, locking the door. She was scared about him coming in and letting his anger out on her. Her legs carried her to her small closet, in which she mastered the art of hiding quietly. The way towards this little save space was memorised perfectly, unable to forget even us she wanted.
She heard Sawyers steps, knowing that he was walking past her room to walk downstairs for breakfast. Y/n expected him to stop, break the door and search for her. Tears were leaving her eyes, still not used to the psychological pain she felt.
But he didn't come. He didn't break her door. Instead, he kept on walking towards the steamy breakfast that's as waiting for him. He didn't bother to stop at her door and yell at her. A wave of relief went through her body, as she quickly got out of the closet, changing into her everyday clothes and waiting for Sawyer to arrive in the dining hall.
