Sakura woke up once the sun's rays hit her eyes through the curtains. She tried to get up only to realize that her husband had his arm around her, back pressed against his chest. She slowly turned around to see him deep in slumber. She stared at him, sometimes she had a hard time believing that he was there next to her. It all seemed like a dream but this was her reality and she couldn't be happier about it.

She moved her hand up and gently removed his hair from his face and stroked his dark locks. Over the years, Sasuke had gotten more good looking, if that was even possible. She rolled her eyes thinking about how whenever they go out together to the market, people – mostly women – would stare at her husband. Sakura would always frown at that and Sasuke, noticing that his wife was upset would always take her hand in his and walk as if nothing happened.

Sakura smiled, yesterday when she got home she heard her husband telling their daughter about the time when he came back from his three-year long redemption trip. She couldn't help but reminisce what happened after.

Naruto called out for his friends for the third time, he frowned, they seemed to be in their own world. He looked at his sensei who was also staring at his two students, but unlike him, Kakashi was grinning, he could tell by the way his eyes glowed with happiness. Of course, Naruto was happy to see Sasuke and Sakura happy together but his stomach was growling too much for him to cheer for his best friends.

Sasuke lifted his head but held Sakura close to him. She was warm like the sun in those cold winter days and he had been so close to darkness that he didn't want to let her go.

"Come on Sasuke-kun, let's go." Sakura said softly and pulled him with her. When they reached Ichiraku's Ramen, the three teammates looked at each other a silent conversation going on, blue eyes sparkled with mischief, emerald nodded in curiosity understanding the plan while onyx stared at them with disappointment but his eyes were shining with familiarity and affection for his teammates. Before they could even glance at their sensei, he was done with his ramen, leaving the three to slump theirs shoulders in defeat. They sat around eating and discussing about everything and anything. It felt like their old genin days, but when Kakashi looked up at the time he abruptly got up and said, "Oh look at that it's almost ten, I have to go back to my paperwork."

His three students nodded. They all got up, "Sasuke, you'll be staying at Naruto's old place for the time being. Don't worry I made sure everything is clean and new."

Sasuke nodded. He was glad that his former sensei was the hokage, if it were anyone else he wouldn't have even got a place to stay or even got out of the prison cell. He would always be grateful to his sensei who took a fatherly role in his life, even when he was in the depths of darkness.

Kakashi left with a backwards wave making his way towards the hokage's office while the three friends stood outside Ichiraku's.

"Well teme, these are the keys to my old apartment," Naruto said as he handed the keys. "I have to go back home, Hinata's probably waiting for me. Welcome back again! Oh, and some of these days we can spar with each other, I've been practicing so don't go easy on me." With that Naruto ran home.

Sasuke who had been standing next to Sakura, scoffed at Naruto's childish behavior and said, "He never changes huh?"

Sakura laughed at that and said, "Nope."

They both walked around the streets of Konoha, in a comfortable silence. People glanced at them time and again, well mostly towards Sasuke. News had spread far and wide about how Sasuke had helped Naruto in the war and saved the Shinobi world. Some were welcoming him home, while others bowed in respect to the two of them. Girls were gawking at Sasuke which made Sakura feel uncomfortable, yet the hand that was holding hers calmed her.
