Chapter one
All Time Low- Vegas
I'm counting down
The mile marks to every town

Alex Gaskarth nervously walked through the halls of his new high school, clutching his schedule tightly in his hand. He had moved across the sea with his family and had to leave behind everything he knew and loved. The only thing that made the move bearable was the thought of starting anew. A fresh start was always good, Alex remembered hearing his mum's best friend say as they packed up what little stuff they had. Alex sighed and looked at his locker number. Walking towards it with his head looking down, Alex didn't realise someone stuck their foot out to trip him. Alex almost fell to the floor when someone caught him and yelled, "BERT! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!"
Alex looked up and made eye contact with the guy's dark brown eyes. He looked right back seemingly studying Alex's face. Alex blushed before stating, "I-I'm Alex."
The guy made a face of amazement, "You're British! Sorry um, my name is Jack!" Jack let go of Alex before asking, "Do you need help finding your locker and or class?"
Alex looked down at his schedule and muttered, "It would be nice to have someone help me out if you are okay with that?"
Jack smiled before taking Alex's schedule to look over it, "I have no problem taking you to class I'm sure my teachers will understand. Or not either way I'm willing to help!" Alex smiled at the skunk-haired boy's enthusiasm before he pointed out, "Woah our lockers are next to each other AND we have 5 of the same classes. Why would you take advanced English I hear that shit is awful." Alex shrugged slightly embarrassed. Jack smiled at him and said, "I'm just kidding don't worry about it Alex." Alex let out a small sigh of relief.
Jack laughed before leading Alex to a wall of lockers. Jack opened his with ease but Alex struggled and almost fell as it opened. Jack laughed slightly then caught Alex's eye and stuffed his laughter down as Alex put his stuff into the locker and slammed it shut. With that Alex turned to Jack who shoved his stuff into his locker before shutting it. Jack motioned for Alex to follow. Slowly Jack and Alex walked towards their shared classroom as the bell rang. Alex's stomach filled up with dread as he heard the shrill cry of the bell. Jack gently bumped Alex before saying, "Don't worry they'll understand since it's the first day." Alex nodded before they stopped in front of a classroom door. Jack smiled before opening the door.
