By the time I got back to the hotel, Eric was talking to some guy so I waited for him to finish his conversation then I can give him the scoop. I sat at the bar and looked at all of the people. Most of them are here with a vampire of their own. Others are here looking to leave with a vampire tonight.

I honestly why people think that vampires are irresistible. We drink blood for crying out loud. Some humans are big masochists for it though. They crave the danger of a vampire losing control, and drain them of their very life essence. They have a death wish because that's all that we are. Death.

I breathe in the "blood" scented candles, wondered how did this smell like blood. It just smells like soup. Literally soup. And we're supposed that they're "blood" scented. I look up and see the most beautiful man I've ever seen. He even smelled good, and not one dirty thought went through his mind. He caught me staring so I looked down hoping that would air out the awkwardness. A few minutes passed and when I looked back up he was gone. "Hi" a voice said behind me, and I know it's not Eric.
"Hey yourself" I took and looked at the gorgeous man before me. "What's your name? " his southern accent is almost overbearing.
"My name is Marie." I extended my hand. "Stan" shook hands and he sat next to me.
"You from around here?"
"Nope I'm from North Carolina" I turned to see Eric still in his conversation. He looks over and notices my staring. I avert my gaze away from him and focus on Stan. "She doesn't look like she's from around here, but I swear I've seen her before."
"Chances are you probably have,  but I don't want that to spoil the good mood." I really need to stop answering other people's thoughts. He gave me a look.
"Don't worry it's one of my many talents....I can read minds."
"Oh so you're clairvoyant? That's cool. Can you tell me what I'm thinking right now?" Flirtatious I see.

Before I could answer him Eric tapped on my shoulder. "Are you two done eye fucking each other? There's serious work to attend to Marie." He gives Stan a death glare, grabs me by my arm, and pulls me somewhere more private.
"Do you forget that we need to find a fucking  missing sheriff?"

"First calm your tone. Second I was waiting for you to finish talking to your little friend. Third I can flirt, fuck, and do whatever I want to do. Remember you asked me to find this person, which I know his whereabouts. I didn't volunteer for this." I'm tired of Eric acting like he's king ding-a-ling all the time. Give a man a little the naughty fun time and they think they own you. I mean the sex was good, but damn it wasn't enough to kneel at his feet.

Eric takes a deep breath.  "So where is he?"

"In the basement of a bunch of lowlifes in Fellowship of The Sun. I heard his thoughts, but they were in a different language."

Eric gives a smirk that means no good before saying "Well at least I know that you can fetch good." I never slapped someone so hard in my life.

"I'm not your fucking pet!" I walked to the nearest elevator and pushed the up  button. I didn't even look back and see if he was on his way to rip out my spinal cord.

I walk to the elevator and before the door can shut Eric steps in. We sat there in silence for a little bit before I broke the blissful sounds of silence. "I'm sorry" Eric says softly. It was like he was saying to himself. I ignored him and when the elevator finally stopped where my room was I ran to my room and made sure I locked my door behind myself.

I need to hunt.
