Chapter 12: Obsidian

We were told that Henry and Rose would begin education and training tomorrow. We had until nighttime to do whatever we wanted. We were able to roam free. When the Oracles allowed us to leave, Henry just walked away to explore, but Rose immediately spread her wings and was about to take off when Beauty stopped her,"You aren't allowed to go alone." I cut in,"I'll be going with her." She shook her head,"No you won't. Don't you want to see what your family has been up to all these years?" I stared at her in shock. My family. I had forgotten about them and stared to feel guilty. I nodded and asked, "Who will go with Rose?" Beauty whistled and immediately a phoenix flew down to greet her. "This is Blaze. She will accompany you." I looked at her unimpressed,"Hows she going to protect Rose?" Beauty answered, "Phoenixes are much fiercer than they appear to be. Now are you going to come with me to see your family?" I nodded and went with Beauty as Rose and Blaze took off. "How does the aerial protection work?" Beauty thought about it for a moment,"I believe we always have some on patrol."

We stopped at a cave. Inside, there was a small orange dragon, my brother Sunset. When he saw me, he ran towards us and asked me, Obsidian, where have you been? We've missed you! Mother and Father are out with some other Oracles right now, but they've missed you too. It was amazing how much he had grown, then I thought of my older brother. I asked, What about Storm? How is he? Where is he? Sunset began to look uncomfortable.
H-He left.
What do you mean?
That is exactly what I mean.
Is he on a mission?
No, he turned. He left us to join the Dark Force.
And you still do not know what this Dark Force is?
No, Storm is not the only one. Oracles have left as well. There was Wonder, then Courage, and Wisdom's brother, Cunning.
I couldn't believe it. I knew Oracles had turned, but I never knew that our brother would leave us as well. And that Wisdom's brother would betray us as well. How have you been? "I'll just leave you two." Beauty said. For the remainder of the day, Sunset and I tolded each other about our lives ever since I left. It was dark when Sunset said, You should get going now, I'll see you later. I nodded and left the cave.
I came back to the center of Mystic. Rose and Blaze were already back, Henry was there, and so where the five Oracles. Rose was wearing the cloak and her wings were out.

"When will we know when we receive our powers?" Henry asked. Agility smiled and answered,"You'll know." That only seemed to make Henry more curious. I heard Honor mutter under his breath,"The clouds always clear up at a ceremony." I didn't know what that meant, but I guess I would just have to wait.

After a while longer, I looked up to the night sky and saw that the clouds had cleared and the moon was shining at its fullest. Then a ray of moonlight settled itself on to Henry. He was then shrouded by red, blue, green, and yellow fog. When it had cleared, the Oracles were looking at him as if he had grown a third eye.

Another beam of moonlight rested upon Rose. She was then showered by silver, gold, and white misty type of fog.

It was a few minutes after it fog had cleared and the Oracles were still in shock when I spoke,"So what happened?"

"He's an," Justice stated shocked,"Elemental. And she," she pointed at Rose,"is a FateSeeker."
