The rest of the day, your encounter with Oikawa bugged you more than you wanted to admit. After the bus arrived back at Seijoh, you exchanged quick goodbyes with your squad and started to head home.

And, of course, that couldn't just go easily for you, no.

"[y/n]!"

Tooru fucking Oikawa.

"What could you possibly want?" you snapped, swinging around to face him.

"I just wanted to say you did an outstanding job cheering me on today."

I want to smack that smug look right off of your face.

"I wasn't cheering for you."

"Don't be silly," he said, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his Aoba Johsai Volleyball jacket. He looked way too happy for a boy who just lost a match. "I saw you watching me from the sidelines."

"I was hoping you would take a spike to the face."

"I'm too skilled to let that happen. Don't you read all of the articles and magazines about me?"

"Nope. Not worth my time." You turned and started walking again.

"You live this way? Me too!" He skipped along beside you. "We can walk together."

You told yourself to ignore him. For a moment, you thought it worked. And then-

"Have you seen some of Karasuno's cheerleaders? They are smoking."

Don't say anything, don't say anything, don't say anything, don't say-

"Are you ignoring me, [y/n]?"

You didn't respond.

"Well, this is pissing me off," he said with an overdramatic laugh. "You really have no reason to ignore me."

"You're an annoying asshole, that's reason enough to ignore you!" You realized your mistake a second too late and slammed a hand over your mouth.

Oikawa giggled. "Is that really what you think of me?"

You nodded, glaring him straight in the eye.

His head tilted slightly, and he stopped, gazing down at you with a curious look on his face. "Well, aren't you just unique." He paused for a second. "I'm quite surprised the cheer squad puts up with your shit."

"I'll have you know-"

"I knew that would get you talking," he laughed. "But, honestly, how do those poor girls put up with you?"

"Just because I'm not one of your doting fans doesn't mean I'm a piece of shit."

"Very true," he said, then started walking again. You followed after him quickly, refusing to be left behind. "But you're a piece of shit for other reasons."

"Isn't it impolite to talk to a girl like that, Shittykawa?"

"You're picking up Iwa-chan's bad habits," he whined. "What a mean nickname."

"Have I wounded your ego?"

"Perhaps," he said. You laughed quietly.

"Was that- did you just laugh? Shall I call a doctor?"

"Yes, call a doctor. You're plaguing me."

This time, Oikawa laughed. "You're funny."

"I'm insulting you."

"It's refreshing."

You narrowed your eyes at him and made a puking gesture.

"What's that for?"
