16 - Alice's Rebirth

Allison's POV

I was being shaken when my awareness returned. I heard a voice calling me."

"Ally! Ally! Ally!"

Semi-awake, I slowly opened my eyes and saw a cartoon girl was shaking me. I was confused, then I noticed the chocolate orbs she had for eyes, and I was so shocked that I was fully awake.

"Helen?!" I exclaimed. "Is that you?"

She nodded excitedly. "Uh huh! Ink made me aaaaall better! Now Mama's my bi-o-log-i-cal mama too!"

"Awwwww." I cooed.

I couldn't help myself. Despite how shocked I was, her statement was simply too damn cute to not react to it.

"Is Hailey still there with you?"

She pouted and shook her head. "Mommy went bye bye."

That got my attention. "What did you just say?" I said at the exact same time Alice did, who I suddenly realized was in the room as well."

"Mommy went bye bye," she repeated. "It makes me and Mama sad. Can I have a huge Ally?"

I nodded, stood up and gave her a hug. "There you go. Feel better now?"

"Uh huh. Thank you Aunty Ally."

"Sweetie, why are you calling Hailey and Allison those things?"

"Well Mommy's the reason I exist, and you liked her in grown up ways Mama, so that makes Mommy my mommy. Ally is her sister that makes her my aunty." She frowned, and tilted her head. "Right?"

I had her look at me. "You are right, little one." I said to my new niece.

While it was sad I lost a sister, the fact that Helen still thought of me as family was wonderful. Though it was kind of awkward how Alice was technically my sister in-law now.

"Wanna hear Mommy's message for you Ally?"

"Message?"

"Uh huh."

"Sure."

"Well Mommy wanted me to tell you that she might not have known you for long, but she was happy that she had you as her sister. She hopes you find your Tom, and you two have a wonderful life. Though she also hopes you keep Mama and I in your life."

I hugged her again. "Thank you for that wonderful message."

"Your welcome Ally." Suddenly, she started looking around. "Where did Mama go?"

Alice's POV

I had started to feel an odd sensation in my body, so I walked out so they'd have some privacy. I felt... off. I didn't know what was happening, but I began feeling a warmth in my chest, where my heart was. The sensation wasn't painful, it was... comforting... soothing... solace. The warmth intensified, like a warm fire on a cold night, and spread through my entire body. I felt myself smile as my eyes shut, and I felt light as a cloud. I began to feel so many emotions at once, something I was never capable of before. Joy, love, excitement...

Allison's POV

I held Helen's hand as we went to look for Alice. We went to the management office, and went in. It was a mess. There was a broken wall, a couple of posters on the floor, and ink-written messages drawn on the entirety of its walls and quite a bit of the floor. The messages regarded taxes, money, etc. However, none of that got our attention, it was the woman standing in the middle of the room.
