5 - Shōnen Jump

The next morning you woke up to get ready for school. Anais got ready with you and the two of you chatted for a bit and got to know each other. You learned that Anais was a huge weeb like you, so you both talked about your favorite shows and mangas. She lent you her newest copy of Shōnen Jump and you happily took it. You had told Goshiki before that you liked to read it so this was important to back up your claim. You looked at the clock and saw that it was pretty early, so you and Anais decided to go get breakfast early so that nothing would be gone. Anais never liked to wear her blazer because she said she didn't like static shock (which made you smile because Kita is the same way), so she left it behind and just rolled up the sleeves on her sweater and button up shirt. The two of you chatted some more before she interrupted you.

"By the way, I think that the volleyball team may be at breakfast."

"How do you know that?" You asked, smirking.

She rolled her eyes at you and replied. "Shiratorizawa values their volleyball team over any other extracurricular activity. It's pretty common knowledge that they have morning practices. The only people who have memorized their schedules though are their fangirls, and you don't want to get involved with them."

"Are you a fangirl? Since you know that they'll be at breakfast?"

"I never said that I knew, I said that I think they may be there. How dare you accuse me of being a fangirl!" She said, gasping dramatically. You laughed and thought about how much Anais reminded you of (F/n) back in your normal world. You weren't really sure if you missed your friends, but you did hope they were doing okay.

    "Okay, okay! I'm sorry for assuming!"

    The two of you eventually made it to the cafeteria and it was empty. You were kinda disappointed that the volleyball boys weren't there, but you shrugged it off. Anais ran ahead to grab her food first and you laughed, following behind her. You both took a seat at a random table and pulled out your copies of Shōnen Jump. You were reading the comics and discussing the characters and stories. When you heard the door to the cafeteria open you looked up and saw the volleyball team. You gave them a small wave and Kawanishi, Goshiki, and Semi waved back. Shirabu just nodded. You and Anais went back to reading your manga and only stopped when you heard a voice from behind you.

"So you read Shōnen Jump, (Y/n)-chan?" You turned around and saw Tendou and the team sitting at the table behind you. Tendou was leaning backwards to look at the book in your hand.

"Yeah I do." You responded. "Do you like reading it, Tendou-senpai?"

"Yep! We should read it together sometime~"

"Sure, if you say so." You turned back to Anais and ate your breakfast while the volleyball club ate their food next to you. While you were eating you tried to remember what you knew about the Guess Monster.

Tendou Satori:

A third year middle blocker for Shiratorizawa Academy. His birthday is May 20th and he's 6'1. He's called the Guess Monster by other teams because he's good at guessing where he needs to block. His favorite food is chocolate ice cream and no one on his team talks to him about Shōnen Jump (but you were going to change that).

You and Anais were fairly quiet so you could hear what the boys were saying. Shirabu and Semi were arguing and Reon was trying to calm them down. "Hmm... I'm not sure if Semi is actually the mom of the team, right now he's acting like a child." You thought, quietly laughing to yourself. Yamagata and Kawanishi were talking with Tendou and Ushijima, but Ushijima didn't really talk. After a bit you and Anais finished your breakfast so you went to clean up. After that you said goodbye to the volleyball team and the two of you headed to class.
