Chapter 36

Jiwoo bit her lip as she waited outside the male dorms for Jeno. She recalled the last time she was with him one on one.

Jiwoo stared into the Jeno's eyes before down at his lips and the next thing she knew, his lips were crashing against hers.

They held the kiss for a brief moment before Jiwoo realized what was going on and then immediately pushed Jeno away. She could tell that the students around them were staring at the two of them.

Before she knew she was running away, heading to her room to hide from embarassment.

The next few days she had been avoiding Jeno in class and at the agency, but clearly their friends had picked up on their behaviour. The words that spread through the halls hadn't helped the situation either, and eventually, Rena ended up dragging the faerie into one of the private rooms in the training area after they were done training that day.

"Explain." Rena said, her arms crossed.

"Nothing, there's nothing going on." Jiwoo said, avoiding her friend's eyes.

"Yeah, nice try. I'm disappointed that I had to hear about what happened from some random faeries gossiping instead of you. I'll give you one more chance." Rena said, staring at the faerie. Jiwoo let out a deep sigh, knowing that Rena wouldn't let her go so easily.

"Jeno and I kissed." Jiwoo confessed but Rena didn't seem satisfied by her answer.

"Yeah, I know that part. I want to know why you ran away afterwards because according to the boys, he doesn't seem very happy about that." Rena told her.

"I don't know why I ran to be honest. I just felt exposed so I ran." Jiwoo told her. She noticed Rena's eyes soften towards her friend.

"I know that you've liked him for a while, it's pretty obvious so I don't think that's a problem." Rena took a step closer to her.

"Is it because Jeno is supposed to be the pack's Beta?" Rena asked. Since Chanwoo was supposed to be the next Alpha, that made Jeno in line as the next Beta, the second-in-command of the pack. With that position, Jeno would be required to mate a female werewolf.

Jiwoo stayed silent, giving Rena her answer.

"I hate to say this but you hurt him, especially since it's Jeno. Actions mean more than words with him." Rena told her before opening the door, exiting the room and leaving Jiwoo alone with her own thoughts.

But Jiwoo had forgotten about her solo mission.

Jiwoo looked at her watch. It was already ten minutes past the time they were supposed to leave. With a sigh, she got up to leave but was surprised by the door opening.

"I wasn't expecting you to come so I slept in." Jeno's voice was low, like a growl. "Lucky for you, Renjun came knocking at my door to tell me that you were here."

Jiwoo turned around to face the male. She bit her lip as she saw him, grey sweater, ripped jeans, leather jacket and black converse. His eyes were dark, hair messy as he walked down the stairs, hands in his pocket.

Jiwoo opened the faerie door and the two stepped in heading straight for the Werewolf Pack.

When they got there, Jiwoo quietly followed Jeno around as he guided them to the town hall. Once there, he and Jinsol explain the different structures and alliances that the pack had with the various kingdoms to Chanwoo while Jiwoo sat in the corner, playing with her phone.
