I can't stop this train wreck so let's keep rolling down the tracks
Who's that coming down the tracks? IT'S THOMA— no nope wait a second it's just author 1 & author 2
Also I apologize for the Mr Brightside description. Having a mix of the song stuck in my head and no self control results in absolute trash.
Shakily Author 1 subconsciously held her breath. Author 2 hadn't seen the message yet. Should she unsend it? Maybe not...
She finally let her breath out deciding to leave it and keep playing it off as a joke. But behind every joke, there is some sort of truth in it. Hidden deep inside. And this "joke" was no exception.
Author 1 opened Wattpad back up. 38 new notifications... a single earth shattering tear fell down her cheek. Cooling the side of her face with the cold of her undying heart. Landing into a soft puddle of euphoria. Happy to have attention, but at what cost? What does this all mean? Sure she may have made some friends but... her tear of solemn loneliness as a constant reminder of her abysmal life. (Author 1 I am so sorry— I'm just making this as overdramatic as possible I'm sure you have a wonderful life and joyous time)
She went to reply to all the comments but hesitated before clicking them. She decided to write out her own message to announce to her followers that went as follows:
"HEY GUYS! I asked Author 2 to marry me on Discord, do you think she'll say yes?"
An uprising of a chorus going "yesss" and "they better" flooded the notifications section. Author 1 hoped dearly that author 2 wouldn't see it before she saw the message on discord.
Ding!
A notification appeared at the top of her screen.
Discord: {RoseyPosey} **yes of course**
(Go join them on discord or else >:( I will come for you)
Author 1's heart flooded. The dam of her brain couldn't contain her emotions as she smiled with glee. Her asexual ass couldn't handle all this shit. But daaaaaaamn did it feel good to have Author 2 reciprocate.
Oh wait.
What if...
She thought it was a joke
As Author 1 had disguised it as.
And it really
Meant nothing to her.
Oh no.
Well that was heart shattering. But alas, the "joke" must go on. Author 1 opened the notification up, and they chatted as they always did. With that same crackhead energy, the sides of themselves that only the Internet (and each other) knew about. This fun side.
Author 1 opened up Wattpad again, after all, their followers deserve to know the outcome of the question asked. She typed out a new message on the conversations tab, announcing it to all their followers.
"AUTHOR TWO AND I ARE NOW MARRIED! :D"
Cheers all around. Happiness from the fans and shippers. Author two even responded on their.
"Author one is now mai waifu"
Author 1 thought to herself, "well if I really am her waifu, then does she feel the same?" But perhaps, perhaps, it was still a joke. Author 1 needed confirmation.
She invited Author 2 over to her house. In the middle of a pandemic. A global pandemic. Where people should social distance. And isolate. But hey— even though the rates of cases kept going up, some laws and conditions were being lifted so who cares! They can still come over!
And so they did.
A little while later Author 1 heard the ring of the doorbell and a knock.
It was Author 2
