I laid awake that night smiling like an idiot. Could it be possible that someone could actually love me?
But who would want a broken, worthless, no-good mess like me?

I dismissed the thought and tried to sleep.

After restless hours I sat in the window ledge to view the early morning traffic. I didn't realize Doctor Lindsay walked in until she spoke up.

"What are you doing up this early, Miss White?"

"Just... couldn't sleep." I reply, contemplating if I should tell her why I couldn't sleep.

She sat down beside me, despite all of her other priorities.

"Tell me what's on your mind." Her tone was sweet, like chocolate coated over strawberries.

Once again a grin appears on my face. Dr. Lindsay's eyes gleamed at the unexpected emotion.

"Daniel visited last night. We played some games, ate a fantastic dinner and hanged out here for a bit. But then, when you declared that visiting hours were over-" I sighed contently and leaned back on the wall. "He kissed me."

"I'm guessing you're quite fond of this Daniel." She smirked.

I only blushed. Even hearing his name creates butterflies.

"Well, lets get you some breakfast." Dr. Lindsay suggested.

I nodded in agreement and made my way to the half filled cafeteria.

All my happiness and giddiness left when Daniel did not show up. It was now 9pm, meaning visiting hours were over. Where was he?

I trudged to the landline down the hall and dialled in Daniels cellphone number. No answer.

That left me wondering if he was ignoring me.

No, he was probably just busy today. Because he would visit if he wasn't. He cares about me..... right?
