"Come on," The nurse said sweetly. "You haven't eaten a full meal in days."
"I'm not hungry." I bitterly mumbled crossing my arms over my chest.
"What's going on?" She asked as she pulled out one of to guest chairs to sit on.
I didn't reply.
The name tag that stated 'Dr. Lindsay' rested nicely on her standard uniform. Her and I weren't close but she keeps me company when no one else would.
"What are you not telling me? What are you hiding?"
Once she mentioned the word hiding my instincts of covering my wrists with my sleeves kicked in.
"I know about those. However, I do not know why you've been skipping meals. What is upsetting you?"
I shuffled uncomfortably but still did not answer. After a dull staring contest, I sighed and decided that I there was no point in hiding it anymore.
"Daniel." I bluntly said after a brief pause. "H-he took me in when I was 8. He saved me from getting run over. Ever since that day, I've looked up at him with such glory. I even idolized him. He was also the only one who cared about me".
The words seemed to come out quicker than I anticipated.
"Where is he now?" Dr. Lindsay pressed on for more information.
"We used to live in this stupid foster home before I had to go here and he was adopted".
A sigh escaped my lips for I was unable to speak anymore.
After about 5 minutes of receiving no more information, Dr. Lindsay left for some paperwork, leaving me alone to drift off to sleep. However sleep does not come easy for me. The last time I had a good night sleep was when I was cradled in Daniels arms, afraid to leave him the next day.
My thoughts emerged throughout the whole night. Thinking of what normally strolls through my mind.
At the moons highest peak, I did something I've never done before.
"Dan," I spoke hoarsely at the full moon, barely audible. "I need you."
With that, silent tears streamed down my fragile face.
