PLEASE READ:

I made a mistake in the last chapter (stupid Emily), and I wanted to clear it up before continuing because it's kinda big... I said that DEREK was the one that wanted to get Amber and Harry out, but I mixed Derek up with DREW. Drew is the one, not Derek! Sorry if I confused anybody, but I've fixed it and will write more about it in this chapter. Okay, onto the story now!

Hope everyone had happy holidays! :D

-Emily:)

Amber's POV

"What?!" I gasp. "What do you mean? I thought you were on their side!"

Drew sighs and tells me to be quieter. "It's complicated. Let's just say that I got behind enemy lines, and I work for the people who work against Harper and his organization. We've been trying to bring him down for years, after an incident back at HQ."

"Is you're whole 'organization'," I mock quotation marks with my fingers. "Whole job to bring him down?"

"No," Drew shakes his head and smirks a bit. "We protect a whole lot of people, and kill many bad guys."

I gape at him, wondering just what I've gotten myself into. "So... You're a spy?"

Drew chuckles. "You got it."

"Who do you work for?" I ask him, still trying to wrap my mind around this. After everything that's happened I shouldn't be really surprised by much anymore, but I never expected a double-agent.

"MI6, baby," Drew winks at me as my jaw drops even more.

"B-but... Why help us? Aren't we just a small glitch in the bigger problem? Shouldn't you're main objective be to take Harper down? Not that I'm ungrateful, I am very happy, don't get me wrong but... It just doesn't make sense." I frown, trying to put the pieces together.

Drew's face screws up in a grimace as he ponders this question. "How do I put this into a way were you don't freak out?"

"Oh, boy. You sure know how to calm a girl," I mock sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

Drew laughs, before turning serious again. "Amber, you are the operation. Yes, the goal is to take Harper down, but we need you to do that. You are the key to this whole thing. And, Harper knows it. He thinks you have something that could be the end all be all to him, and he wants it back, so that he can destroy it."

I glare at the ceiling. "I've been trying to figure out what he thinks I have! What is it?"

Drew glances at the door. "Now that, is a very important matter. And there is a long story behind it."

Somebody pounds on the door twice, forcefully. "How's it going in there, Drew?"

"Fine, I'll be out in a few minutes," Drew calls back. He then motions to some chairs placed on the concrete floor. "I think you'd better sit down."

I walk over to a chair and sit in it, watching expectantly as Drew does the same. He rubs his hands together and weakly smiles at me. "Story time, kids."

I laugh a bit and he does the same, because turning back to all seriousness. "Alright, this is a huge deal. Covert operation, only the highest ranking people are in on it because it is a matter of global, and national security." Drew takes a deep breath. "Your father, was a British man, I don't know if you knew that?"

I shake my head, my eyes wide. I can't believe this guy knows more about my father than me, his own daughter. And what does my dad have to do with this? I know that Harper knew him, but so what?

"Of course you didn't, okay..." He runs a hand through his hair. "I'm just going to give it to you straight here, Amber. Before your mother, Christina, met your dad, he worked for MI6. He was one of the brightest, and most cunning of all the students in England, if not all of Europe. So, after he went to college, the government gave him the deal of a lifetime. Be a spy for MI6, and all of his life expenses, everything from insurance, to diapers for a future family, would be paid for. He literally wouldn't have any bills whatsoever. Naturally, he went for it."
