Why do all these things happen
to me only?
Whenever!
Whenever I think that
finally, everything is going to be fine
in my life,
it turns out to be

Sandhya Pov

All the school pass outs, how did you feel on the last day of your school?

Emotional!

Happy!

Sad!

Excited!

Similarly, all my classmates are feeling right now, they are getting emotional and crying because it's the last day of standard 12 in 'DE NOBILI HIGH,' today is our farewell day.

Some are promising each other to stay connected after school, some are making deeds that they will attend the same college, lovers are promising that they will continue their love story, but my emotions do not resemble any of them. I am not sad in fact, I am very happy as the days I spend here in this school were not so smooth and now it's finally over.

Wondering why?

Well, DE NOBILI HIGH is one of the topmost schools in India. Here mostly the kids of rich people get enrolled, and for them, I am nothing but just a poor girl whom they all had labeled as 'Charity Case' and loved to treat like trash.

I don't have a single friend here because nobody treats me as their equal, parents of my classmates warned their kids to stay away from me which genuinely hurts me a lot, sometimes I feel like screaming, 'I am also a human being. The color of my blood is also red like others.' but I kept control over my emotions and stay quiet.

Raj uncle had specially selected this school for me because his wife Karuna Ma'am teaches here, they might have thought if I study here then they can easily keep an eye on me, and also monitor that I am not misusing their help.

I agree with them. They are spending their hard-earned money on my education, they have full rights to keep a track record of my academic performance.

"Hey, Sandhya." Someone called me.

Strange! No one calls me by my name in this school except the teachers. They all addressed me as 'Charity Case' or 'Aye you'.

I turn around and realized that the voice belongs to Riddhi.

"All the best for your future." She said enthusiastically and pulled me in for a hug.

Riddhi is the only girl in my class who never misbehaved with me and sometimes she even encouraged me to ignore the nasty comments passed by our other classmates regarding me.

"Thanks, Riddhi, and same to you," I replied with the same enthusiasm.

"I will miss you, mark my words, Sandhya, you are truly a gem."
