Two-Bits P.O.V-

I woke up on the Curtis house and I realized I must have passed out there after bickering with Dally. I got up and stretched. The sun had barely begun to rise so I thought it would be a good it sea to get home so my mom would know that I wasn't dead.

I quietly opened the front door and walked outside, the cool air hit me and my teeth began to chatter slowly. I continued walking down the street and I smiled remembering that Ivy and I might have a date today. If she came.

I opened the door to my house and it was quiet. Everyone must have still been asleep. I walked into my room and smiled at the mess in it.

Home sweet home.

I quickly grabbed a fresh set of clothes before heading into the shower. After I hour out, I began to grease my hair. I winked at my reflection in the mirror but was quickly interrupted by my mom.

"Keith Matthews! How dare you scare me like that? You open this door right now." She yelled.

I laughed and opened the door "What's wrong" ?

She slapped my arm "You are supposed to come home at night, not leave me worrying."

I nodded "I did come home."

She frowned "You did"?

I smiled 'Yes."

She hugged me "Oh Keith, I am so sorry. Please forgive me."

I nodded "Sure thing ma. Now can you get out."

She smiled "Okay. You look real handsome Keith."

I closed the bathroom door and focused on my hair again. After finished, I slid on my bright red Mickey Mouse shirt and topped off the look with my classic leather jacket. I walked out of the bathroom and walked into the kitchen, looking for the cake which was usually served at the Curtis house.

I frowned when all I smelled was fried bacon. I looked over at my mom "I have to go. See you tonight."

She didn't hear me, over the loud noise of the bacon being fried. I walked out of the door and stepped on the newspaper the newspaper boy had thrown into our yard.

I picked it up and sure enough Curly Sheppard was on the cover. I smirked "Can't hit me now, can you Curly, Curly" ?

I threw it into the garbage bin and continued walking with a smirk on my face. Oh how wonderful it was to be the better person.

I walked into the Curtis house but I couldn't smell the cake either. I frowned and walked into the kitchen. Darry was in the kitchen on the phone, nodding as if he were an adult doing something important.

I opened the fridge, hoping the cake would be in there. It wasn't.

I grabbed the phone out of Darrys hands and hung it up. "Excuse me Darry. where is the cake"?

Darry glared at me "Excuse yourself, fool. Today is a mourning day and tomorrow the gang will be going to Curlys funeral."

I laughed sarcastically "The hell I will. I could care less over Curly."

Darry grabbed me by my shirt "Were going so you better go have your mommy take out your church clothes."

I rolled my eyes "I have never been to church."

Darry set me down "Meaning you nice clothes. Now go."

I angrily walked outside of the house, kicking the dirt. No fair. Curly does and were not getting cake. We should be getting cake to celebrate.

No more asshole!

But everyone else likes Curly so we have to act as if we care.

Then I smiled, I bet Ivy will be at the funeral. Oh yeah. I'm totally going. Maybe we could have a party, cheering "No more Curly"!

I held a cigarette up to my mouth and headed downtown hoping I would see Ivy.

I found her in the most random of places.

A laundromat.

I walked inside and there was Ivy patiently waiting for her clothes to wash.

" Ivy"? I asked.

Ivy looked up "Hey."

I smiled "You miss me"?

Ivy sighed "Two-Bit, you shouldn't be here. If Tim sees you here, he will kill you."

" Why is he here"? I asked.

Ivy held a finger to her mouth "His mom owns this place. She gets me discounts."

" So is he here"? I asked, again.

Ivy shook her head "No he went to go get some Dairy Queen. He's will arrive here soon."

I frowned "So you guys are going to have lunch together" ?

Ivy nodded "Yes."

I glared at her "Are you and Tim dating"?

Ivy quickly shook her head "God, no. I just, am trying to support him through these hard times."

I scoffed "I thought you would be celebrating, you don't have to deal with Curly anymore."

Ivy sighed "Two-Bit. You didn't know the Curly, I knew. You knew his protective side where he was rude and gruff."

I looked down "Well wasn't he like that with you."

Ivy smiled and shook her head "No. He was happy. And nice. But he always acted different in front of his other friends."

I shook my head "That's not a true friend then."

" What"? She asked, looking confused.

"A true friend would change their attitude around you to look cool  in front of his other friends." I replied , kind of proud of myself for coming up with something like that.

Ivy grinned "That's really deep."

I nodded "Yeah, see you later."

Ivy stopped me "Wait. Are we still on for tonight"?

I turned around smiling wide "Oh yeah."

"Okay see you later, Two-Bit. " replied Ivy

I bit my lip "The real name is Keith." Then I walked off.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Ivy smiling and blushing as she added more coins to the laundry machine.
