Chapter One The Dream

JAKE'S POV

"Bye Mom!" I wave to her as she pulls the car our and drives away. I take a look at my new school I'm being forced to go to this year. I mean, after getting expelled from my old school, my Mom and Step-Dad decided to send me away to a boarding school... only problem is that it's a whiles away from New York...

After finding my way to the Headmaster's office, I sigh and knock on the door. I tallish man with a jolly face opens it.
"Hello, umm who are you?" the man says.
"Hi, um I'm Jake. Are you..." I check my papers "Uh... Oh! Mr.Sweet?" He nods. "Well that's good. I'm new here and need my schedule." He turns around and walks to his desk and grabs a piece of paper.
"You will be boarding at Anubis House." After pointing me in the direction of the House, I get ready to go. "Good Luck." he tells me ominously and closes his door.
I make my way to Anubis House lugging my luggage behind. I laugh to myself at that failed attempt for a joke. and walk up to the door. As soon as I reach for the door, it swings open and a redhead, followed by an asian and a blonde follow beside him. I barely register this and almost wait straight into the blonde girl. I mutter my apologies

"Oh it's fine," she says as she extends her arm. "I'm Cassie, this is Dexter ad Erin" I shake their hands and spend a couple of minutes getting to know my newly made friends. "Well, I better get these unpacked."

Right before I walk into the house, Dexter blocks me. "Where have I heard your name before? Jake... Jake... JAKE! I'm rooming with you this year!" he says excitedly. I nod happily and make my way to my room (first door on the right in the guys hallway) to unpack.

I just finished packing when Dexter comes in the room informing me it's dinnertime. I run into the dining room and sit down at the table. I take this time to get to know my housemates. Besides from Dexter, Erin and Cassie, I met Arisa and Calista (who are sharing a room) and Cole and Michael (who are in the room next to mine). They all seemed pretty nice except for Cole who gave me the cold shoulder the whole time.

After dinner, Dexter and I spent time to get to know each other. "Umm my favorite show is probably The Big Bang Theory." I say to Dexter. Right before I'm able to ask him a question to answer, our housemom, Trudy, opens the door. "Hi Jake," she says. "Hope you enjoyed dinner and your stay at Anubis House. Oh and Dexter, it was great to see you again!" She smiles and leaves the room.

I turn to Dexter. "So, its your second year at Anubis, yet you're a Freshman... what did you stay back a year?" He shakes his head. "No, me, Erin, Cassie and Sophia came early last year and unpacked and got to know some of the outgoing seniors." he says.

"I didn't see a Sophia when I met the other housemates. Did she leave?" Fear flashes over Dexter's face. "W-well you s-see Sophia h-had to go because..." we get interrupted by our strange Housekeeper, Victor, say "It's ten o'clock! In my minutes precisely, I want to be able to hear a pin," we hear a metallic rattle "drop." Dexter goes to shut off the lights and mutters "God, I love when he does that!" and starts to laugh. I pull the blanket over me and close my eyes.

~ IN THE DREAM ~
I am standing the middle of a forest staring at a statue of a girl kneeling before a pyramid. The pyramid itself misses the tip and ends with a flat top. Gold lightning crackles from the pyramid and strikes the statue if a girl. The statue starts to crack and break and the gold lightning floods the cracks. The rock around the girl breaks and a teenage girl replaces the figure. The girl opens her eyes and her eyes are filled with the golden lightning. I try to run but my feet are stuck the ground. The girl makes her way towards me then-

I awake covered in sweat and scared for my life. It was just a dream, I tell myself. Just a dream. I stare at the alarm clock and there is only five more minutes til the alarm goes off. I get dressed while the alarm clock goes off and Dexter wakes up. I walk outside for breakfast and get ready for the day ahead of me.
