Blue
"Ma, can I hoop?" Noah came up to me.
"Those old things?" I looked at him.
The basketball court was close to the house, not too far. Three houses down from Memas. We used to hang around there most of the time, when we were younger.
"Yea." He shrugged.
"Take your brother and cousins."
"They don't wanna go." He shrugged.
"Ok, but be careful."
"Were gonna walk down there in a few minutes." I spoke.
"Ma."
"Noah." I looked at him.
"It won't be long. We have to go to the grave soon." I wiped down the counter.
"I got it ma. Relax." He bounced the ball, going in between his legs.
"Where he going?" Mil came in.
"Play ball."
"Told him we'd walked down there in a few minutes." I gave her look.
"Have you talked to the guys today?" I asked her.
"No. Talked to Zel earlier, but nothing since then."
"I haven't talked to Deuce either." I pouted a little.
"Oh Lord. Don't start worrying Blue. I think Mema's house does this to you. Every single time." Mil shook her head.
"Shut up."
"Well, you do." She shrugged.
"Where my kids?" I rolled my eyes.
"They too quiet."
Noah
"I got next." I stood off to the side.
"Ard." Some young guy spoke.
"You any good?" Some guy walked up to me.
"Yea." I looked at him, den away.
"Guess, I'll see what you got." He smirked.
"Guess so."
"You new around here?" He asked.
"Na. Not from here. My mom and aunt is."
"Forreal? I've been here my whole life. What's their names?"
"Blue and Aunt Milly."
"Blue is your mom?" He asked.
"And your aunt milly? Millan?"
"Yes. You know'em?" I looked over at him.
"Yeah. We go way back. What's your name?" He looked at me.
