"You did really good today, I heard." Mil said, while she drove us home.
I had done my physical therapy for the day.
"U sure that's all u heard?" I asked.
She looked at me.
"Yeah. Just that it'll take some time." She smiled small at me.
I kno I had a long way to go. Now, I kinda wish I started right afta' it first happened. I need to walk now. I have too.
"You wiggled your toes today, so that's a step." She rubbed my hand.
To be honest, ion even kno how da accident happened. It was sort of like a hit and run. Dis car came from nowhea', only to end up hittin' me, and leavin'.
We neva found out who did it, but I was messed up pretty bad just like my car. I was thankful dat I was by myself.
I couldn't even imagine if Mil was in da car wit me dat day. Or, Jacob and Callie.
"Daddy!" I heard Callie scream from our front porch.
"Sup princess." I tried to get in da wheelchair from da car.
"I missed ya." She gave me da biggest smile.
"I missed u." I gave ha a million kisses.
"Stop daddy." She laughed.
"Glad u talking again Dad." Jacob came and hugged me.
"I'm sorry. U kno I love u right?" I asked him, huggin him back.
"Yeah. I kno." He took a while to let go.
I had to do everythin' I could now. Fa' my kids. My wife.
Holdin' onto him, only brought back memories of how me and Boon didn't have nobody. Deuce either. All our family had gone befo' we was even teenagers. I couldn't leave my kids. I can't.
"Cal, come help mommy cook." Mil grabbed ha hands.
"Help ya pops in da house." I laughed at Jacob.
"I got ya dad." He smiled, grabbin' my chair handles.
Deuce
Me and Boon had just came to da gallery, to look at da tapes.
"Hey, what's up guys." Grant, the security guard, said.
"Wat's up man." I said, while he got up from da desk.
"Damn, nigga. U tall." Boon looked at him.
"What brings you by?" He laughed.
"Need to look at some tapes from the beginnin' of da week."
"Okay, what day?"
"Try Monday, round 3 sum." We walked closa to da monitors.
"Dis sum movie type shit." Boon laughed.
"Let's go undercova' De." He hit my arm.
I looked at'em.
"Ok, my bad. Dis serious." He put his hands up.
I felt him jump at me, when I turned aroun'.
"Okay, let's see. Tell me when to stop." Grant pressed play.
"Pull up da front cameras, by da windows." He did as told.
"Keep yo eyes open Boon."
"Na, Ima close dem shits. How tf Im pose to see den De." He said smartly.
