The pain in his eyes was what was killing him the most. Anything else could be handled one way or the other, but the suffering that was oh so clearly depicted on his beautiful almond eyes was something he didn't know how to cope with. He'd rather be the one to suffer, he wished the other had rather died when the earthquake occurred than seeing him hurting this much right now. It was driving both of them insane, the whole situation but mostly this. The fact that the earthquake had hit when it was the least expected was nowhere near scary because he knew he had him by his side. When they were together and they had to face any kind of difficulty, everything would seem way easier to them than when they were alone.

The whole situation they were in was something he could bare, because he was truly certain that it would end up being just another story they'd tell their grandchildren. Oh yes, they had thought about this far. They were not afraid of the future. They had made a promise to always stay together, since there was nothing to fear when they were standing by each other's side. Of course, they were just two adolescents, utterly in love, not acknowledging how the adult world really worked, but pure love was unifying them. And if pure love was there, then in the end everything could work out, couldn't it?

Future was nothing to be afraid of, so why was he now trembling only at the thought of what the future was holding for them? He could never forget that awful feeling of seeing one of his loved ones hurting, but it had nothing to do with how much pain Jinhwan was going through. His lovely angel. His dark brown hair had already grown out too much, but he didn't really feel like cutting them. He liked them this way. Even Hanbin had started liking them more at this length.

"You look sexier" Hanbin chuckled and sat on the bed, a book in his hands. It wasn't like he was going to concentrate on it, but he anyway held it in front of his eyes, sneak-peeking at his angel's back, who was sitting in front of the laptop screen.

There was this moment he totally could not forget. His sister sitting on her bed, her glassy eyes glued on the wall, tears threatening to roll down her pale cheeks. Her heart was broken because of that one boy, but he could swear that there was something more going on. Her whole world was falling apart, and she honestly did not know how to save herself from drowning in that endless abyss. He sat by her and took her hands in his, tears in the eyes of both of them, yet a sense of comfort in the air. He turned his gaze on her. The pain in her eyes was making his heart ache, it was hurting him so much that without even realising it, he was already crying, while tightly holding in his arms his also crying sister.

When he had gone to bed that night, he couldn't help but be constantly reminded of that feeling the look on his sister's eyes was giving him, like everything had ended for her. He wanted to forget about it, and he did, but right now that feeling had returned. It felt like it had even grown bigger. It felt like it was worse than ever, like there was no space left inside his heart for any other feeling. It was painful. He couldn't breathe properly. He couldn't held back his sobs. He couldn't think straight. Even his vision was constantly getting blurry. That was something he totally could not fight alone, not without him.

Hanbin sat by him on the bed, and gave him a soft, genuine smile. It was still early in the morning, so the sky was kind of dark, but the light of the lit candles was enough. Enough for Hanbin to look at his angel's face and see everything that had kept them together for so long. Enough for Hanbin to look at his favourite human being's eyes and realise how much he loved him, how much he wanted him to stay. He couldn't go. Jinhwan shouldn't go just yet. He had to hold on for a little bit longer. "Be patient, hm? Everything will be over soon"
