He was gone.
She knew he was, she saw his coffin lowered into the cold, hard ground. It was their final goodbye.
Then why was he here, beside her? So many years after he was laid to rest.
He had grown just like she had, he had grown taller and was chiseled with prominent features. He had grown just into who he was supposed be to and yet he had grown into something he was not. His eyes were glowing red, like some demonic creatures that had come to drag her to the depths of hell.
Was it real?
Was the fuzzy grey blanket he had lovingly wrapped around her real? Was the pouring rain creating a loud pitter patter against the cars roof real? Was the water that cascaded down the windows and being brushed off by the window wipers real?
Was HE real?
He stared at (Y/N). His worried gaze was genuine and seemed, somehow out of character for this new person he had become.
"You have to say something."
He croaked. The static glitch in his voice, seemed so prominent to her as she stared at him solemnly. She was pale, she was seeing a ghost after all. Her eyes seemed to droop, her mouth was slightly ajar. She closed it to swallow, suddenly she was shaking as the emotions she fought began to surface.
Salty tears, suddenly flow and yet she reminded almost motionless. Then she moved back, letting her back rest against the door. He perked up a bit. Finally. She was moving after what felt like forever.
Then her still, hardened body limped down as she broke down into a shameless sob. Her wails were had become uncomfortable and loud. She sloppily wiped at her eyes that seemed never ending. Ben was taken back, he wasn't sure how to react.
Her body seemed to shake almost violently, prompting him to pull the car over to the side of the road. They were still in a practically deserted place. Only greenery and a long empty road. As soon as he pulled the hand break, she tackled him in an embrace.
"I hate you."
She sobbed out.
"I'm sorry."
He replied, hugging her.
"Why, just. How?"
She asked, pulling herself away and sitting back in her seat. Pulling her t-shirt up and wiping her nearly dripping nose. Ben fixed himself, he shifted himself so he would be facing her. But he kept his hands on the steering wheel.
"Do you remember that phone call?"
He asked, holding onto the steering wheel. She looked at him for a moment, an eyebrow raised.
"The one we had before you found out I died?"
He clarified, raising three fingers off the steering wheel.
"Oh."
She said sinking into her seat. Ben wrapped the blanket around her again with great care. Returning his hands once again to the steering wheel.
"The night before, I was working late. I didn't tell you I'd gotten a job, just to fly you over. That's all I remember, next thing I know, I can see my own body at the bottom of a lake and there's a faceless man telling me not to be scared."
He explained, he looked out the window and away from here.
"I died. I'm dead. (Y/N), I was confused and scared and cold but all I could think about was you. I asked about you, I wanted to see you. I wanted to hold you. You were the only thing I cared about but he told me I had to forget about you. It was best for you to live your life and find someone else to love and grow old with."
He said, shooting her a quick glance. The words 'someone else to love' struck a cord in her, in both of them.
"I obviously fought this."
He continued.
"But he stayed firm on his words. We eventually came to an agreement of one last call, when I said I loved you.. I didn't mean it in the normal sense we always said to each other, I meant it."
He finished, clearing his throat.
"I knew you loved me too, I knew you always would so I watched you. Watched you start that gaming channel for me, saw you rejected every man and woman that showed interest. That's when I realized it."
He said, running his hand along the steering wheel.
"Realized what?"
She asked, leaning slightly close to him.
"We can't live without each other."
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow.
"So I called you here, if it was true, you'd come. And here you are (Y/N). You're finally with me again."
He said with a smile. There was silence between them for a moment.
"Wait, won't you get in trouble?"
She asked, looking at him. He shook his head, still smiling.
"That doesn't matter now."
(Y/N) pushed the blanket off of her shoulders, sitting up in her seat.
"Is it wrong? That I'm still mad at you? For not telling me? For leaving me alone. Wait. Don't answer me, I know it's wrong."
She said, fiddling with the hem of her t-shirt.
"I've missed you."
She said, tugging it off. Ben looked at her, the only thing covering her top portion was a (F/C) lace bra. He places a hand behind her neck and pulled her close, placing a soft kiss on her lips. Their bodies began to move by themselves.
