It looks fine

Emma turned around facing her friends who were sitting at the dock. They all squealed and gave her thumbs up. Yikes.

I looked at the land and I couldn't help but notice Even, Vilde, Noora, and William surrounding coach, talking. Even turned around and the second we got eye contact I blushed and looked away. I looked back up at him and he was smirking, looking at the ground. He was kicking a pine cone around. Out of nowhere coach snapped in Even's face meaning he had to focus. Even looked terrified and I couldn't help but laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" Jonas tackled me from behind.

In just one second Mahdi, Magnus, Jonas and I were full on wrestling under the water. We were laughing the few seconds our heads were above water, although when I think about it we should have saved them for breathing.

"Guys!" I heard Even calling us from the dock where Emma and her friends were.

I don't know why I got so nervous, but I did. I felt like I had to toughen up around him. Like I was trying to impress him I guess.

"It's time for dinner so you have to get out of the water" he continued, looking at Mahdi, Magnus and Jonas. Why didn't he look at me? I guess I jinxed it because he looked at me while I was staring at him. He smirked and left. Had he just caught me staring at his beautiful face? Oh my god. Beautiful? I mean he was. He really was.

The boys and I got out of the water. We headed for the boys locker area where there were showers too. We took a quick shower and I changed into a grey hoodie and a pair of blue, loose training shorts. It was around 7pm and it was time for dinner. Everyone sat around the bonfire, and we were grilling hot dogs. I kept seeing Emma glancing over at me but I tried to look away. I didn't want her to be into me, I wasn't into her. She was a she, not really my type.

I saw Even glancing over at me a couple of times too, but I knew it wasn't for the same reason Emma was. My hair was probably messier than usual or something. Still, I liked that he noticed me.

"I'm gonna go check something in my bag" I told the boys as I left to the hut. I didn't actually want to check something in my bag, I was gonna go brush my hair and make sure I looked ok.

I went to the hut and got out my hair brush. As I was looking in the mirror I saw Even standing behind me.

He chuckled, "It looks fine".

I froze. What was I going to say.

All I could get out was, "What are you doing here?" Jesus, I was so awkward.

"As a mentor I have to check what everyone's doing. So you don't get lost." he smiled sarcastically.

"I'm done, so I'm going back."

"Wait."

I turned around. He took the hair brush out of my hand and brushed a curl out of my face. He threw the hair brush on the ground in a gentle way.

"Now it looks fine" he winked. As he was walking out his arm brushed mine.

What the hell? That was so weird. I was nervous now. He intimidated me, but in a good way kind of. I don't know what that was.

I went back to the campfire and just sat beside the boys, trying not to look over at Even. A smile kept creeping on my face for some reason, but when the boys asked why, I just said that their jokes were funny.

Typical.
