Smoking are we?

We sat on the bench outside of the locker room. It was far enough from everyone to not be seen, so I wasn't worried about anyone catching us. I passed the joint to him. I had taken a few puffs but I didn't feel high at all. 

"Does it even work?" I asked him with a confused look on my face

He laughed in between puffs, "It's a normal cigarette but when you asked I couldn't help but play along"

"Oh" I chuckled, "I was wondering cause I don't feel anything" 

"Yeah" he nodded, "Should've been a joint for real though, the sneaking around smoking together would've been fun" he nudged my arm and raised his eyebrows. 

I was shocked.

"Normal cigarettes could work for that too" I smiled

He smiled too. 

"Isak?" I heard Jonas's voice from a distance.

"Shitshitshit" Even said and threw the cigarette on the ground and started stepping on it.

"Uhh I'm here" I said.

"What took you so long- Oh you guys were smoking. Don't worry I won't tell, but I can smell the smoke in your breath from a mile away."

"Here" Even said and handed me a gum from his pocket

"Thanks" I nodded.

We made solid eye contact when he handed me the gum and I got shivers all over my body. It was a stare you'd see in movies, so weird but at the same time intriguing. 

"I better go before coach comes" Even said and ran off. 

Jonas walked up to me,

"Smoking are we?" he raised his eyebrows and smirked

"Not really, it was kind of last minute.." I looked down

"Oh" he shrugged. 

We walked back to the gathering and Even was already back beside Noora, acting normal. We sat beside Mahdi and started talking like normal. Magnus still wasn't back and neither was Vilde..This was a good sign for Magnus.

Emma walked up to us,

"So Isak.. You're uh tall right? Hehe can you uh help me reach the first aid uh kit please?" She was giggling and I saw her friends whispering behind her. I also saw Even staring at her in worry, why? 

"Um sorry, I'm not really that tall.."

"It's ok! You stand on your toes-"

"I haven't eaten anything yet anyway so I don't really have time."

"You can eat on the way-"

"No Emma. Sorry"

"Oh ok.." she looked disappointed.

"Sorry.."

Jonas and Mahdi looked at me shocked. 

"Dude, she's gorgeous"

"I know I know. I'm just not really interested.."

They shook their heads.

I saw Even smirking at me, of course I smiled back. Only to be polite..
