nobody had to tell her that she was fat, she just knew.knew from the way that she looked compared to her classmates, compared to people in television, compared to the models on social media, she knew she was fat.
her body was puffed up in a way that theirs wasn't, and she didn't understand why.
she and her friends could eat the exact same amount, but yet she was the one who looked like a pig, while they all stayed slim and fit.
why couldn't her metabolism be as fat as theirs?
her mother just said to blame it on her slow metabolism, it ran in their family after all, and that was how genetics worked...or something like that. being fat didn't seem to bother her mother, and it didn't bother her father, but it bothered her.
the doctor said that it was normal for girls to gain weight during puberty, and she would grow out of it.
but none of her friends were as fat as she was, none of them even came close! so why was her body the only one that was inflated like a balloon, why did nobody else seem to suffer the way she did?
why did she have to be the fat one?
