(Author's Note at the end, read if you'd like. Not too important.)
When Minyeong woke up the next morning, he had a killer headache. He groaned as he rolled around in bed, whining about how unbearable the headache was. He looked towards his nightstand and saw a cup of water, a note and his phone. He grabbed the glass of water and chugged it, reaching for the note.
Minyeong,
When your awake, come see me. We need to talk about some things. As soon as possible.
Thanks, Irene
XoxoMinyeong sat up and rubbed his tired, red-brown eyes. He flung the covers off himself, rubbing the back of his head as he groaned with each step he took, the pounding in his head not going away. Minyeong turned the shower on and let it heat up as he looked in the mirror, his pale skin pale as always, his brown-red eyes were slowly turning more red. He ran fingers under his eye, getting closer to the mirror to take a closer look.
The red covered about half of his iris now. He blinked a few times to make sure he was seeing correctly, and that it was not an illusion. However, it wasn't an illusion, he was seeing perfectly fine. He sighed and stripped himself of his clothes, not wasting another second and let the warm water run down his back. He quickly did his routine, brushing his teeth and combing his damp hair.
He slipped on a comfy, casual outfit since he didn't feel like dressing up all fancy today. He slipped his crown in his head though, still wanting to establish the dominance and authority he has. He grabbed a pair of keys and dropped them in the guards hands, opening the door for himself and waited for the guard to pull off, driving to Irene's establishment.
The car ride was silent, as usual. Normally Xingshu would strike up a conversation, make it more interesting so Minyeong wouldn't be bored out of his mind. And due to this, it's what led to them connecting, why their bond was so strong. But any ounce of hope of him actually being able to even step foot in the human part of town led him into hurt and distaste.
All the human race is disgusting, only doing things for their benefit. Only to get the things they desire, not caring about others. Absolutely disgusting. It made Minyeong want to purge.
The car soon stopped, forcing the thoughts of his head. He opened the door for himself, not wanting any help. He could do this on his own, for Xingshu. Since he couldn't have Xingshu by his side, he didn't want anyone. He didn't want those pity eyes staring at him. He didn't want people to even think he wanted their help.
"-yeong? Minyeong..? Hey, Minyeong!" Minyeong snapped his head up, realizing Irene has been calling his name for the past minute. "I apologize..I got lost in my thoughts," Minyeong apologized, and she shook her head with a smile on her face. She handed over one of the twins she gave birth to.
"Come along, we have something to discuss. It's very important."
(So you've made it to the Author's Note and decided to read it, wonderful! For those who skipped it, you won't miss much. First off, I'd like to apologize for the inconvenience of leaving suddenly and not updating this book in forever, please forgive me. Second, I'm not feeling the best, my physical health is fine, I got cleared for my iron levels a few month's back. I'm more talking about my mental health, it hasn't been the best but it's not too bad, and to distract me from it, I'll be updating this book and writing two new stories which has nothing in relation to this book. I love you all, thank you for reading this book and I hope you enjoy. Be safe out there, remember to wear a mask and try to sanitize outside things you may use like shopping carts and try not to touch surfaces since they may or may not have been cleaned! Once again, I love you all, have a wonderful night or day or evening wherever you are!)
