The little sparkles on her dress shimmered under the lights that decorated the ceiling of the venue. Her chubby cheeks stretched every time she greeted her parents' colleagues with a smile.
The 6-year-old Kim Jisoo was very adorable, and a total secret weapon to secure any deal her parents might offer to the table.
It's mid December, and most of Seoul's highest levels are all gathered together to celebrate the upcoming holidays.
Jisoo's eyes wondered around, admiring the colorful lights that hung from the pillars of the venue.
The dinning room was buzzing with people and their conversations. Christmas music danced in the air, while the smell of cinnamon, pine, gingerbread, and anything to do with the festivities scented the air.
It was truly magical.
After a couple of "hellos" and "how are yous", Jisoo finally manages to pull away from her parents, and venture on her own.
Her older sister, Kim Jang-Mi, was found across the room, chatting away with her fellow peers.
Jisoo spotted two of her cousins messing around with three other strange boys she didn't recognize, while some other kids also caught her attention.
Jeon Jungkook was stuffing his face as usual, the boy's big cheeks could be seen from a mile away.
Kim Taehyung and Park Jimin was at it with their daily trouble making deeds, while Jung Hoseok, and Kim Seokjin was laughing at the three with their fingers tightly wrapped around chicken tenders. On the other hand, Jisoo also spotted Kim Jennie with a bored face, Lisa Manoban waving at everyone who passes by her table, Kim Namjoon being the obedient son, and following his father around as they greet more colleagues, and finally Park Chaeyoung, who is showing off her angelic smile.
Jisoo was in the middle of deciding which way she would want to run off to when a boy sitting alone in the corner with a book in his lap, places himself in her sight.
His glasses hung loosely from his face, forcing him to push it up every 5 minutes. The mini tuxedo he was wearing neatly rested on his 8 year-old body.
Jisoo instantly identified the boy as no other then her older cousin, Min Yoongi.
A smile appeared on the girl's face, as she forgot about everything else, and rushed over to him.
"Yoon!" Jisoo exclaimed.
The older boy looked up from his book and starred at his younger cousin. His eye lids flapped in confusion.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"What are you reading?" Jisoo replied, stretching her syllables, and plopping herself next to Yoongi.
The boy lifted up his book and showed the cover to her, "The Notorious Few. It's about a group of friends who bravely worked together, and defeated The Supreme Court. It's very interesting."
Some may say Min Yoongi is strangely wise for his age, and they'll be absolutely right. The boy preferred grown books with big words over children books with lots of pictures. He was definitely going places as he grow.
Despite not understanding a word her older cousin just uttered, Jisoo giggled and yanked the book out of his hands, "I want to read too!"
Yoongi looked down at her, shocked that she did what she did, but couldn't help the smile that appeared on his face. At that moment a little spark lit in Yoongi's little heart, which created a place meant for only Kim Jisoo and no one else.
After a few moments, the rest slowly made its way towards the two cousins, and the puzzle was finally complete.
There in the back corner of the venue were 11 kids, shuffling away in that book, where good defeats evil. If you were there, and paying enough attention to them, you would've witness a history of laughter, heartbreaks, pain, and forgiveness unfold before your eyes.
As the infamous group made up of 11 of Seoul's highest profiles were formed. You could say this is when it all began, on a cold December night.
