March 27
[9 days till charity gala]

Jungkook couldn't sleep a wink even if he tried. His mind was too cloudy and occupied to even consider the thought of sleeping.

The clock read 12 a.m, which was the time Kook intended to stay awake for. With the past few days being chaotic as all, he didn't exactly keep track of the days and dates. Time really just fly by.

But now that he, Jimin, and Jennie had made it back to Seoul, Jungkook took the chance to glance at his calendar.

March 27, his phone read once the clock stroke 12. His heart immediately ached. He knew what today was. He knew how important that date is.

It was her day.
Her special day.
She was turning 21.
God, how he missed her.

Jungkook hated himself for running away all those years ago. He wasn't man enough to stay. To stay by her side. He left her alone for 5 fucking years, and now that it was her birthday, he finally decided to admit he longed for her?

Bullshit.

The best thing he could do for her was to let her be. Allow her to move on.

Though Jungkook knew what was the right thing to do, he still needed her more than ever. And seeing her in a couple of days at the charity gala would not help one bit. But he promised himself to stay away. Hell, he'll force himself to stay away from her.

He was a coward then and a coward now. He can't face her.

Kook's mind was still frantic. It was running a marathon so to say.
In order to get himself to sleep, he decided to sweat a bit, tire himself down.

He pulled his plain white t-shirt over his head, revealing his toned abs and tattooed arm. He ended up doing a total of 300 push-ups that night. All the while failing to sleep.

Lisa loved her fair share of sweets, and cake, well it's just out of this world to her. One of the things she loved about her birthday. Even though she could just drive to a nearby bakery and get herself a piece of the fluffy sponge anytime, having it on her birthday was extra special.

Her parents had whipped up a creamy, soft, and chocolate cake just for her that morning when she awoke to the sound of them singing happy birthday, accompanied by Rosé.

Her blonde friend had stayed overnight just because of the special occasion.

"Make a wish, cupcake," her father said, placing the cake in front of Lisa. She closed her heavy eyes and blew out the candles. A smile on her face while doing so.

Her parents soon left to peruse their daily schedule, which involved going through new recipes and meeting up with customers who had booked their food.

Once cleaned and whipped away from the hint of sleep, Lisa and Rosie sat in the living room and binged watched k-dramas on Netflix while munching on the cake.

"Mina and Momo should get here by 7. We'll probably get to Coral at 7:30-ish," Chae told Lisa.

Club Coral was what Lisa ended up choosing. The other option was one of Seoul's top-tiered entertainment places for young adults, but she had no interest in colliding with the owner. Namjoon would be found looking over the dancing bodies of half-drunken customers every night Crescent was open. The thought of him approaching the girls would definitely ruin the night for Lisa.
