hi :)

Gala 1

The stage was ready for Seoul's elites to walk on and stride confidently, showing off their wealth and power. The day of the charity gala had finally come.

To most, it was just an annual event attended by the wealthy. However, there would be many other events unfolding at the same time deep inside the extravagant party.

Where 4 friends hunt down a mysterious thief, 4 others trying to corner a gang lord, and 3 completely clueless individuals who are juggling their own affairs. Soon to be pulled into the middle of both conflicts, however.

Spoiler? Nah.

The big venue that the main event would be held at was carefully cleaned and decorated. Everything looked perfect. The golden outline of the walls and ceiling shown brightly as the radiant light from the hanging chandeliers bounced off it.

Tables were neatly clothed and arranged to fit the room perfectly. There were tables scattered around with fancy trays of food sitting on them. Those would occupy the guests as the kitchen bustles around to prepare the entrees. Champagne bottles rested in buckets of ice, ready for waiters, and waitresses to refill the tall glasses that would be handed out to anyone who desired a hint of the savory drink.
Everything looked as if someone just snatched the scenery from a movie. It seemed too well crafted.

It was a couple of hours before the guests would be expected to arrive at the venue. The Kim manor was rustling and bustling as usual. Jennie was slowly making her way downstairs with her hair tied up in a bun, and outfit casual.
The girl trailed her fingers along the wooden railings of the staircase as she watched her mother pass out orders and arrangements to the house workers.

As soon as Kim Jung-Hwan spotted her daughter, a smile immediately plastered across her smooth face. "There you are my little one. Did you sleep well?" Jennie's mother extended her hand towards her daughter, helping her off the staircase.

"I did," Jennie replied, giving her mother a tight-lipped smile. She was in awe by the woman's appearance. Despite getting older, her mom kept young features. Her hair defined and skin flawless.

Jung-Hwan rubbed her daughter's arm gently and guided her towards the dining room, where breakfast and her husband were found. Kim Ji-hoon was peacefully sitting at one end of the long rectangular table, reading the morning paper and drinking his black coffee. Hearing footsteps approaching, he looked up and smiled as soon as he saw his wife and daughter.

"Goodmorning ladies," Ji-hoon said, closing the sheet of paper in his hands. The two women greeted him before sitting down. They were soon discussing the night's big event. "I heard you'll be attending the gala with the three musketeers. Something to do with your little side-stop to Busan?", Ji-hoon spoke up, turning to his daughter.

Jennie swallowed her blueberry pancakes before responding, "Yea. Something like that. We won't cause any trouble, daddy. You don't need to worry."

"Well, thanks for the reassurance, but I'm not worried about that. Are you sure you're ready to face them after whatever happened between the 11 of you? I was quite surprised when you asked for a detour to Busan."

Jennie smiled at her father and acknowledged his concern. However, she didn't want her family to get involved just yet. Not until she and the boys clear some things up.
