Eijirou was fully aware of Katsukis self-esteem issues. He hides it, and he hides it damn well. Through his constant screaming and built up walls. So when Katsuki came to him at 3:00 in the morning with puffed-up eyes and a slightly scowling face, Katsuki knew they were in for quite the discussion.
It wasn't anything Eijirou wasn't ready for, he just didn't want to deal with a sad Katsuki. The thought alone made him want to cry.
"Wanna come in?" Eijirou opened the door wider. He could see Katsuki bite his cheek, probably to force back a snarky remark. Eijirou didn't mind, anything Katsuki said right now would just translate as balled-up emotions.
Katsuki sat down on Eijirou's bed, scooting back so he could lean against the bed frame. He looked everywhere but the direction of Eijirou. It reminded him of a scolded child.
"Do you want to talk? We can just cuddle." Eijirou made sure the door behind him was shut and locked before he made his way to wrap his arms around Katsukis torso. The blond pushed away and laid down. Eijirou followed suit.
"Sure, we can just cuddle." The words made Eijirou frown. He wanted to talk to Katsuki and help him, but unfortunately, he has to wait till he is ready.
Katsuki pushed up Eijirou's t-shirt and slipped through it. It was tight. He wondered how Katsuki could breathe in there, all pressed up against Eijirou's chest like it's his favorite place to be.
They stayed still there for a little, all huddled and quiet. Eijirou was half asleep before he heard sniffling.
He could feel Katsuki's tears moisten his chest.
"Eiji? Are you awake?" His voice was deep and gritty, his voice squeaked slightly.
"Yeah, wanna talk about it?"
Katsuki nodded against Eijirou's chest, he could feel Katsuki bring up his hand to wipe at his eyes.
"Go on."
Katsuki took a deep breath against him, the warm heat ghosted against his chest, he shivered.
"I just-" he hiccuped. "I just feel so fucking stupid." He left Eijirou's shirt to look the other in the eye. It was dark. Eijirou could see how half of Katsuki's blond hair matted against the pillow. He could feel his tears sweep down his face as he cupped his cheek.
"Every fucking day I feel like the laughing stock. Just some angry animal that everyone pretends to fear. This shits getting so *so* fucking old. I deserve it. I'm a piece of fucking garbage and everyone fucking knows it. Hell, even fucking lighting-man said it on the bus on the way to training."
Katsuki's body shook in despair, his breath was quick, his tears threatened to flood the room as he cried into Eijirou's hand.
"I'm *so fucking sick of it.*" he repeats two, or three times. Eijirou rubbed his back.
"Katsuki, I Understand where you're coming from, I get it. It's true that people may be intimidated by you at first sight But it takes a real blind person to genuinely see you as an animal"
Katsuki sobbed loudly in Eijirou's chest.
"Shh shh, listen to me." Katsuki calmed some, but his tears never stopped flowing.
"Want to know why I'm dating you? Because you aren't afraid to be yourself. You're strong as hell. And you give me the strength to do my all. People see you and look up to you. Your manly, people admire that, *I* admire that. Suki, I can't change what you think about yourself, but I can assure you, you are one of a kind."
Katsuki's sobbing slowed but didn't stop.
"Look at me," Eijirou said.
Katsuki looked up through his shallow puffy eyes. Tears continued to fall and Katsuki continued to breathe heavy.
"I love you. So, so much, and I'll do everything I can in my power to get you to love yourself too. I just need you to try just as hard."
Katsuki sobbed loudly into Eijirou's chest.
"I fucking love-" is all Eijirou could hear through Katsukis sobs. He rubbed his face deeper into Eijirou's chest.
"Shh, it's okay." Eijirou rubbed softly into Katsuki's thigh. He's in for a long night.
