~Your POV~ I was being dragged to the park by my kid sister, April. I groaned "sis! C'mon, maybe you could meet a guy there!" April stated.
"April?!" I shouted as she smiled "what? You've been bummed out since you dumped that Curly Shepard guy" April stated.
She was right. I dumped Curly a month ago and my friends and sister have been trying to get me back in the dating pool for about two weeks.
We soon got to the park and I ruffled April's hair as she giggled and ran out to the playground.
I smiled as I leaned my back against a tree and watch my sister play with the other little kids.
~Johnny's POV~ I was at the park with my gang and Dallas was teaching me some pick up lines. "Dal, this is silly" I mumbled as Dally threw his arm around my shoulder.
"No it's not, little buddy, y'know what? This is the greatest idea a Winston has ever had!" Dally stated.
I looked around until I noticed a cute broad in a jean jacket, red shirt, black jeans and (h/l) (h/c) hair blowing in the wind and (e/c) eyes.
I stared at her for awhile until Two-Bit hit my shoulder "you already found your target, Johnnycake" he stated.
I shook my head as I glanced at the broad and it seemed that she was watching her kid sister.
Ponyboy and Sodapop shoved me towards her and I almost tripped in front of her. The broad looked down at me "um...you alright there?" She asked.
I blushed as I straightened up and looked over my shoulder at the gang. They gave me a thumbs up and I took a deep breath.
"D-did it hurt?" I asked "when...what?" The girl questioned. "When you fell from heaven" I stated as I smiled confidently.
"Nope, but I did scrap my knee when I crawled out of hell" the girl spoke.
I blushed in embarrassment as I kept flirting with her with some pick up lines that the gang tought me.
"Y'know what...I didn't want to have to flirt with you, my pals over there told me to and I just wanted to have a normal conversation with you" I admitted.
The girl smiled as she looked up at me with her beautiful (e/c) eyes. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N)" she stated.
"Johnny Cade" I replied as we shook hands and then a little girl came up to us.
"Who's this, sis?" The kid asked "oh! Johnny, this is April, my kid sister and April, this is my new buddy, Johnny" (Y/N) introduced.
I smiled as I bent down to the April's level "aren't you a cute little thing?" I stated and April giggled.
"Thanks, I have the looks and (Y/N) has the bravery" April said and (Y/N) rolled her eyes.
"Lay off, squirt" she said as April crossed her arms "don't call me squirt!" She whined.
"Bug off and maybe I'll consider it" (Y/N) said as April stuck her tongue out at her and ran off. "Sorry about 'er, she's immature" (Y/N) stated and I smiled.
"Don't worry about it, she's seem sweet, I wish I had a sibling" I said. "Johnnycake! How did the pick up lines work?" Steve asked.
I blushed in embarrassment when I heard him say my nickname. "Aww Johnnycake? That's cute" (Y/N) stated.
I rubbed the back of my neck "i-it's embarrassing" I muttered as I looked down at my shoes.
"No it ain't, I like it" (Y/N) said as I blushed more "you do?" I asked. (Y/N) nodded as Dally came over and threw his arm over my shoulder.
"Who's this little angel?" He asked with a cocky smirk. "This is (Y/N) and (Y/N), this is Dallas" I introduced as the two shook hands.
"Nice to meet you, Dallas" (Y/N) said as Dally smiled "you too. Johnny, have fun with the girl" he said and left.
"Well, I should get going" (Y/N) stated as she softly put her hand on my shoulder. I blushed at her touch "o-oh! Um...alright, can I have your number?" I asked.
"Oh! Of course!" She said as she took out a pen and wrote her home number on my hand. I smiled as I waved goodbye and went back to my pals.
"Well?" Sodapop asked "I got her number and she's actually really nice, I dig 'er" I stated.
"Ohhh! Johnnycake gots a crush!" Two-Bit said as I blushed. I looked down as I shoved my hands in my pockets.
Man, I guess the pick up lines did help me in a way.
