~The water droplets that fell from the sky did wonders to camouflage the tears that ran down from his pale, cold skin.
Elias liked the way the rain hid his emotions from anyone willing to look, but he had an even more urgent desire. The desire that the rain would wash away the burning ache deep in the core of his heart so he could feel nothing.
Elias never cried.
And if not for past events that would be forever etched into his memory he would have believed that over the course of his entire life he had never shed a tear. But that wasn't true.
If anyone one could gaze upon him now, they would think one thing.
That he was weak.
But he didn't care because he needed to cry.
He hadn't cried when she left him. He desperately wanted to but he couldn't.
And he did not cry when he forced himself to watch her every day, so near to him yet so far away.
So he would do it now. He would cry till his heart was content and he could cry no more.

He sat quietly and allowed himself to reminisce on the cold bench, it gave him comfort, something that he hadn't felt for quite a while now.
He allowed the memories to make him momentarily happy and that happiness wouldn't last for long but he would make do with what he could get the moment.
He had met her there.
They were only children when it happened but the memory would forever be scarred into his brain, because that was the day that for the first time in his entire life Elias had a warm feeling in his heart.
And that was abnormal because everyone who knew him knew that his heart was never warm. And it would never be warm.
But he changed that day.
The day he had first saw her.
He would forever remember it for he considered it one of the best days of his entire life.
Because even at such a young age Eli had found a legitimate reason to keep on living.
His life was not perfect, far from it actually. It was the exact definition of a life that would make one regret every single reason for their existence.
And if he had the ability to take his life he would, but he couldn't because although he hated it he had one reason, one person to live for.
And when that reason was long gone, never ever to return again there came another reason to live in the form of a girl.
A girl that had quickly turned to the only reason he took breath after breath every day and every second of his life for 12 years.
A girl that would forever be the only reason he didn't contemplate using an incendiary object to send a cold spherical lead like metal rapidly crashing through his skull.
A girl he had now lost and was likely never going to get back again.
And he would be lying if he said he didn't consider ending his life right at the moment she decided she wanted nothing to do with him.
That would be one of the worst lies he would ever tell in his life.
But he would never ever give up on his Annalise.
And unlike all the other unkept promises he had made to people who held no significance to him. That was a statement he would stand by until the day his heart refused to beat any longer.
