Chapter 11
~Alone~

TW:  Anxiety and Depression

Eli stood propped against the walls like a predator awaiting its prey, and due to the nature of the current situation it was safe to say that was exactly who he was at this moment.

His hands felt clammy as he clenched his jaw for what seemed to be the hundredth time that day, the memory of Anna and Drew conversing at her locker was fresh and pure in mind while he stood only a few feet away watching with ill intent and yet not being able to do anything about it.

He knew how special Drew had once been to her, he knew how close they were and how affectionate they were becoming. It seemed like a platonic friendship from an outside view but Eli was smarter than that and he knew for a fact that bastard had feelings for his Anna. She was oblivious to it of course but it didn't take a stranger to realize.

And so no matter how much he knew Drew meant to her he set out to destroy their bond with eachother. He wouldn't risk jeopardizing what was to come, their future together.

And now after painfully watching them talk again after all these months of her being exactly at a place he wanted her in- a place of vulnerability where he could easily waltz in- Drew had to ruin that.

There was a sense of regret after doing what he did, the way he drove all her close companions away, especially at a time she needed them most. But to him it was perfect, what better way to end a relationship than depriving her of care from her loved ones when she needed them.

It pained Elias to see her suffer but he justified it, everyday he justified his actions by thinking it was for the betterment of their future together. For them and only for them.

And though he had realized his ways were absurd way too late in the game it would be senseless to stop now why not finish what you started? Especially now that she didn't need Drew.

He was in her life, and would help her through whatever dark feelings she had at any given time.Any sorrow or burden she carried would be shared with him, she didn't need anybody else.

Eli had no knowledge of what they had said to one another but the bare thought of them associating made his blood boil.

It seemed petty to even be focusing on the minor possibility that Drew talking to her again could stir something up but he couldn't help himself. He wanted her all to himself.

He didn't want to share her with anybody, friend or not she belonged to him as much as he belonged to her and therefore Drew coming back into her life wasn't an option, he would make sure of that.

He hung around late after school after telling Matteo to help take the girls home and periodically texting him to check up on Anna, he didn't want her thinking after their conversation today he wouldn't follow up. Things were going good between them, slow, but good.

He would take things at whatever pace she wanted.

As soon as his eyes caught a glance of Drew making his way out of the school he wasted no time in pushing himself against the wall and walking towards his direction.

Drew's eyes morphed in fear when he caught his, no one was in the parking lot, it was just them two. Sure there were security cameras at certain angles but they both knew Elias was a powerful man, more so powerful to be considered above the law.

Or the law was corrupt enough to bend below him, either way he wouldn't be facing repercussions for any damage he would inflict unto Drew that evening.
