Complications

Pearl pulled Grian into a hallway that was currently empty. She made sure he was close before she whispered urgently. "Listen to me Grian." Grian's eyes widened as he desperately tried to remember everything she was saying. "While I was in the other redstone room, I felt a disturbance."

"A... disturbance?"

"Yes, keep your voice down!" She hissed back. "Only a few in the Redstone Guild are able to feel when Redstone is used." Grian didn't see how this related to him until Pearl pulled him closer to whisper in his ear. "The signal came from your house." She let go, causing him to stumble back and take a deep breath, leaning on the wall.

"What kind of signal?" He tensely waited for an answer. He knew his family didn't have a redstone talent in them. There could be one of two things in this situation. One, Isabell had found her talent, albeit late, or two, the coders had figured out and were using the restone.

"Command Block." Pearl looked just as shaken as he was, but she wasn't done talking yet. "Grian... The signal was strong. I felt like I had been punched in the gut."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Grian!" Pearl called as she ran after him. "Wait!"
"I need to get to my sister!" He called back, running at full sprint. If he was lucky, he could make it from the guild to his house in twenty minutes.
"There are faster ways!"
Grian froze, skidding in the loose dirt. Pearl jogged up, completely out of breath. Taking one second to get the oxygen back in her body, Pearl summoned her redstone orb. Red eletricity sparked out of it in almost an evil look. An object started to take form, the red glow getting brighter and brighter until Grian could not bear to look at it. When the glow died down, a rough floating contraption stood in its place. It was kind of long and thin with a hard metal seat on top. Two handles stuck out of the front and curved slightly back.
"Hop on." Pearl swung a leg over the seat and put on a helmet and goggles that seemed to appear out of nowhere. She handed him a pair which he promptly donned, following in her footsteps.
"What is this?" Grian asked as he wrapped his arms around her waist to prevent from falling. It caused a small flutter in his stomach but he ignored it.
"Hoverbike." Pearl yelled over her shoulder as the zoomed off. Wind whipped his hair into his face and eyes and Pearl's long hair whacked him a few times. The bike was so fast that the trees and bushes blurred into one.
As fast as it had started, it ended. Pearl swung the bike wide and tilted it to a stop. She pulled off her helmet and her goggles, hurrying after Grian into his house. One step ahead, Grian used the banister to swing onto the stairs, taking two at a time. Knowing the door to his sister's room instinctively, Grian entered the room almost ten seconds before Pearl.
Pearl came into the room, out of breath, to find Grian crumpled on his knees, shakily holding a orange metallic contraption.
"She found it."
"Maybe she just was testing it and is out for a walk?" Pearl was trying to grasp on any answer that might make sense.
"No. Look at the code." Grian handed the box over and stared at the ground soundlessly. Pearl studied it for a moment before trying to hand it back. When Grian waved it away, Pearl sat next to him and placed the cube to the side.
"Where did she teleport to?" She gently rested one hand on his shoulder.
"From what I can tell, one of the corrupted worlds. Nothing works there."
This was the first Pearl had heard of such things as corrupted worlds. "What are they like?"
Grian heaved a sigh before making eye-contact with her. "Hell." He took in a breath before stretching his arm out. When he clenched his hand, blue energy pulsed up it into his hand, starting to form the builders orb. "This energy that we harness comes from Motherboard. Without it, we are helpless. Sometimes... sometimes Motherboard fails. Or something gets in. That's why we have the Coders. The Coders fix anything that fails."
"Like a Talentless?" Pearl asked, squeezing his shoulder gently.
"Exactly like a Talentless, although I have heard that they are called glitches. The glitches are always taken care of, I just never knew how. The corrupted worlds are whole sections of the Motherboard that went wrong and were never taken care of."
"You think she went there to escape the Coders?"
"I think she went there to fix her code."
"How do we get there?"
"We use the same command she used." Grian started pushing buttons on the command cube.
"Wait Grian." Pearl held Grian back. "We aren't glitched, what will happen to us?"
"I- I don't know." Grian paused for a second. "But it is a risk I'm willing to take. How about you?"
Pearl thought for a moment before responding. "You can barely defend yourself, I'm in."
"Good." Grian pressed the button and the whole world went black.
Hey there! Sorry for the late chapter, I wrote this story concept ages ago and it's taking a little to get used to it again. Yup, still sticking with the fan-fiction this time, although it is more heavily reliant on Minecraft coding and other Youtubers *wink wink*. I want to expand on the concept of these Talented and their abilities.
That's all for now! Catch you in the next one :D.
