Lahel Pov

"Lahel, you feel it too, don't you?" Baam asked, taking my hand in his.

"Huh? Yeah." I replied, acting as though I understood what he was saying.

"I wonder what this light is. It feels like there's power welling up inside of me." Baam continued, looking at our hands with fascination.

Despite what he said, when I looked at our hands, I couldn't see anything. What light? What power? There's nothing there, Baam. Something in my mind snapped as I realized.

Baam has so many things that I don't have.

"Anything can happen here," I commented.

"Huh?"

"We're inside Shinsu right now."

That's what I told him, but I'll never experience the miracle of Shinsu. Baam is the one who's special. I'm just something extra. Maybe I'm just a shadow cast by a star's light.

But one thing's for sure.

If I stay with you, I... I can't become a star. I can't climb the Tower with you.

In place of the strong, kind, and beloved Baam...

--- Third Pov ---

"Hey, woman turtle!! Where's the black turtle and white turtle?!" Rak yelled as everyone stood around to find out what had happened.

"We were attacked by the Bull..." Lahel murmured, before losing consciousness.

"You're kidding."

"Where's Baam? What about Cecelia?!"

"We thoroughly examined the area, but couldn't find Baam's or Cecelia's body. I expect that they've survived somehow, and are hiding out as they recuperate. There's a high chance that Cecelia survived, but I cannot say the same for Baam. It's unfortunate." Lero Ro announced, holding Baam's ripped bandanna in his hand.

"The test is over, and all of you passed. We'll contact you on what happens next." He finished and walked away.

Rak's enraged yells reverberated through the halls.

Cecelia had walked out of the darkness just in time as the rest of the Regulars were about to pass on to the next floor. This brought a small uproar within the Regulars, but Cecelia refused to explain until after they had all gone onto the next floor.

"I wish I could've met Baam before you did." She whispered into Lahel's ear, a sadistic smile spreading on her plump lips.

"You quit your job as an Administrator?" Quant exclaimed, surprised.

Lero Ro, who was more than fed up with the Tower's rules and Hansung Yu, had quit his job as an administrator. He left the floor with Quant (who also had been fired) and decided to climb the Tower in search of the truth. Not too long after, they were met with a certain albino woman who brought them under her wing.

Meanwhile, Baam had been left alone with Hwa Ryun. He didn't know what was going on, or where he was. He knew that Lahel had betrayed him and had pushed him out of the Shinsu bubble. He knew that Cecelia had been kidnapped to who knows where. And he had been separated from everything and everyone he knew.

"You poor man. Having been betrayed by one that you trust, and having been dragged into a Demons' fight for the Throne... You possess power that everyone wants desperately. And yet..."

"I don't care about that."

"Even the saviour can become the God of the Tower. You have the keys to knowing everything."

"What I want to know is-"

"Then climb. It's the only way. You may find and ask your Demon girlfriend or beat the answers out of your precious "light". But there will always be one way for you to get the true answers. What about the Tower drove you and her mad? The answers to everything you want to know lies at the top of the Tower." Hwa Ryun held a hand out for Baam.

"If you want answers, then I will train you."

"The answers aren't at the top of the Tower. The answers... I'll find them. I'll decide them. And to do that-"

"-I'll climb."

"Welcome... To the Tower of God."

Notice: I've used this break period to find out and plan ahead for what I want to do with Cecelia as a character. It'll involve an extra plotline (ToG plotline, and Cecelia's plotline) but it'll still mainly follow along with the ToG plotline. Don't worry, the romance will still continue.

The next few chapters will be dedicated to transitioning/setting up the new plotline, and Baam's growth as the FUG slayer Candidate. Oh, and explanations to why and how Cecelia managed to regroup with the other Regulars instead of Baam.

Yes, she will be with Baam along on his harsh journey to become a FUG slayer, but she'll also be blossoming as the new dark horse to watch out for as the reason/purpose for her existence within the Tower slowly reveals itself. MUAHAHAHA.

Let me just say that I'm proud of my 5AM brain for coming up with the connections (that will be revealed later on) between Cecelia and Baam. The one between Koon and Cecelia is cool too, but it's mainly to get Maria out of the way.

As for Book 2 that I've been considering, (since this one's getting quite long) I've decided to keep going until chapter 100 on this book first before continuing on Book 2. We're currently at chapter 62, so there's only a few more to go. Thank you so much for sticking with the story up until now!! I hope to make it even better as time goes on!!
