AQUATIA
There was a time, where the ocean lived in peace.
Free of ill-spent blood.
Free of violence.
There was a time, where men and women half fish, lived without fear. Singing their sorrows to the sea, building a city that was destined to fall.
Worshipping a Goddess who would turn her back on them until the very last second.
Overnight, those times came to an end.
The humans got greedy.
They learned that the race of the Nhemj'as was more than just legends told by drunken and crazy sailors.
And they wanted to do what humans do best, they wanted to possess them.
They wanted to own their scales, their fins, their powers.
Nhemj'as were killed.
Nhemj'as were set up as exhibits.
Nhemj'as were mutilated, their scales used to create the most expensive and desired jewels of the continent.
However, at some point they were no longer able to possess them all.
Men became stronger.
Women became smarter.
The forces of the oceans allied themselves with their daughters, and gave them the powers that had been hidden in the deepest reaches of the sea, in the form of a trident. And Aquata, Goddess of the seven seas, mother of the Nhemj'as, protector and avenger, appointed Triton as the first king, and said to him: "With this trident, you shall protect the lives of all my daughters, all my sons, and all the creatures that dwell under the sea. You will create a fortress, and you will spread harmony and peace. You will not use the powers of the trident to harm anyone without first being provoked, and your heirs will do the same."
Triton freed the Nhemj'as with a wave of his arm.
And then he named the kingdom after the goddess.
He named it Aquatia.
