That morning after taking care of beaten up Melina, I called a meeting. Taking proof of our destruction, I was ready to ask for changes. I knew we were depended on systems but I did not expect all hell to break loose. My heart broke as M. or Lina still shivered, she opened up to me last night. Even though I am a loner, my motherly instincts took over as she told me how she was beat up. Not my boys but girls for trying to get them to ration food. She unlike many had thought ahead, we wouldn't have food soon since there were no food trucks. The people of this town needed direction and talking to them would get someone to step up. After cleaning up me and everyone in the house drove to the community center where I called the meeting. When I got there people were all looking at each other, the people who they'd become. Before I could say anything, Alina Mckoy and me said it all. "We need to unite", " what happen last night cannot be repeated". "We need to stand together to survive, not go crazy", "to fight what ever is happening we need direction and to organise ourselves". Murmurs of agreements we heard, even Mark J.M., the coakroach or the Jocks didn't object. I decided to tell them my ideas for food, electricity, water, keeping this town running and finding were we are. "We, need leaders a boy and a girl. Having both sides of the spectrum would help with decisions". The disscussion continued and I zoned out letting the boys and girls fight over who was fit to lead. When I heard my name, I couldn't believe them. The people who didn't talk to me, betrayed and bullied me were now giving me compliments. Saying I should lead them for my ideas and smarts was least of what I had expected. Next thing I knew I was of top of the stage, next to the Mateo. Mateo Ramirez, was I sight to behold now for his strenghth, looks and popularity. I was not suprised to see him picked, but not next to me. He grabbed my hand and started chanting "Unity!Unity!Unity!". Thanks his charisma the sound could be heard from everyone.

The coldness had increased since yesterday, the first day. Now there was a Grand Counsel, taking Alina advice we formed a system like the First Nations or Indigenous. I was the Mother or the most important leader and Mateo was the Chief. The grand counsel was formed with Mark J.M. for his sneakiness, Harry his fierceness, Addison was our moral compuss, Alina was the wisest and my oldest brother Nico for his ressourcefullnes in the wild (nature). Now we were fighting on the jobs people should have. We needed someone at the grocery store to share the food and organise our rations. We need cooks, garderners, cleaners, doctors and babysitters. But as always the coackroach was trying to get the best out of everything and he was getting on my last nerve. So I changed the subject, not being on for confrontation. "We needed a town cleanup tomorow, to start this right" and we all agreed. After this meeting my siblings who talked to me more now seemed proud. It was a shocker considering, they never spared me a glance. Now we were sharing ideas and talking about jobs. It was nice to have this kind of relationship with them, it gave me all the peace I needed to sleep.

It's 8am and here I am with the G  Counsel and the Chief ready to tell the town they will have to work. Thanks to Mateo I'm sur it'll be smooth since they all follow him like puppies. That was an understatment, I have never seen so many people ready to clean and work. But that wasn't it they had this adoration in their eyes and hope when he spoke. I realize that to survive  I would need him, this charming jock called Mateo Ramirez to suceed. So when he asked me to talk and held ny hand I didn't object. Nevertheless after the cleanup we talked. Sitting together at a cute bench as the sun was setting, to all around us it looked like a romantic date. The Chief talked to me for the first time, with his eyes in mine. We had had small conversations in the past but this time was different. I knew he understood when he said " This is crazy, we're all mad. It's like last night showed our true monsters inside. Everyone in this town, has there own darkness. Thew needed direction and you stepped up. I wanna thank you for that and tell that I will do my best to make sure we all survive". For a moment I was speechless, so he wasn't a stereotypical jock. I don't know what possed me but I held his hand and squeezed it. As if we understood each other we sat still in calm silence.
