Chapter 8

In the car

Mel's POV

We just got to the restaurant and I saw a bunch of paparazzi. I pointed to them as I told Chris. He nodded already seeing them.

"What are we going to do?" I asked Chris. "It's fine, their just going to take pictures." He said. "I know but what about all the rumors that are going to form." I said with a worried look on my face. We found a parking spot and sat there for a few minutes. "Well we could always say that they aren't true. Like if people ask us say that we are just friends." I corrected him. "Best friends you mean." He laughed. "Yeah best friends, okay let's go. Remember walk fast." I nodded and we got out of the car. As we walked to the restaurant we were asked a bunch of questions as dozens of flashes went off.

"Chris! Melissa!, are you two dating!" One of them yelled. Chris answered "No we aren't, we are just the best of friends." Then someone else asked "Do you think you will be together in the future." I said "We don't know what the future holds, so we can't answer that question."

We finally made it to the restaurant door and walked in.

"That was crazy." Chris said laughing. "Yep." I said with a smile. We both walked to the table and greeted everyone there.

"Hey guys." I said. Everyone replied "Hey Mel." I sat next to Chyler and Chris sat across from me and Next to Jeremy. "So how was it getting in to the restaurant with all of the paparazzi?" Chy questioned. "I mean it was fine besides them asking if Chris and I were together." I said while laughing. "We told them that we were just best friends." Chris said. I felt my heart drop a little knowing that's all we were going to be. "Well there will still be rumors going around the internet." Jeremy said. "Yeah i know." Chris and I both said with a sigh.

The entire night we all talked and ate our dinner. When it was over Chris and I went home. The paparazzi got pictures of us leaving together and I think one even followed us so they were taking pictures of us getting into the house.

The next morning

My phone was blowing up with tags on Instagram and I checked it. It was all of the pictures from last night. There was even a video from the questions that the person asked Chris and I. I looked through a bunch of them and read the descriptions. There was even one of us walking into the house. One of the descriptions said "Co-stars Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood spotted getting out of the car together and walking into a fancy restaurant. Could these two be dating?" The description on the video said. "Chris Wood denied the dating rumors, but Melissa said that she doesn't know what's in her future, does this hint that they could start dating in the near future?" I laughed a little. They completely changed what I said. I hate when dating rumors start to spring up. I mean Chris and I have been shipped together since we started filming. But Chris has never seen me that way, well I think he doesn't see me that way. I was brought out of my thoughts by a knock on my door. Then Chris spoke.

"Mel you up?" He asked "Yeah." I said "We need to be on set in a few minutes." He told me. "Oh my gosh, I completely forgot. I'll be down in a few minutes." I said while getting out of bed to get changed. I wore sweatpants and a black t-shirt, I put my hair in a messy bun and I walked down to the living room. Chris was sitting on the couch. I snuck up behind him and I saw he was looking at all of the stuff on instagram about the to of us. I guess he's just annoyed that they have to be all up in our business.

"Hey I'm ready to go, are you?" I asked "Yep let's go." He said while grabbing his keys. We drove to set and got to our trailers.

Author's POV

They both went to hair and makeup and after filmed a few scenes. They only had 7 scenes left in that episode. The directors told them that they should be done filming that episode in a few days. After they filmed they went home, ate dinner and went to bed thinking about each other. Chris has mixed emotions, he knew he liked Melissa but he didn't know if he should tell her or not. Melissa told herself that she would tell Chris the next morning but wasn't sure how.

Chris and Melissa will either be together in the next chapter or chapter 10 I'm not completely sure.
