Chapter 13

Natalie

I knocked on the door and waited for it to open. The door opened and stood there, was Ashton. "Natalie" he smiled and wrapped me in his arms.
I hugged him back. "We need to talk Ash."
He held me even tighter. "Yeah we do."
"Everyone leave the room and go somewhere else, me and Natalie need to talk" Ashton let go of me but continued to keep one of his arms around my waist.
"Don't be silly, wrap your willy ash" Michael laughed as he walked out of the room with the rest of the boys.
I closed the door and sat down on the bed. "So, Ashton we need to talk about... us. Let me just clear it up that I can't date you. We can't be together."
Ashton's smile turned into a frown as he fiddled with his hands.
"Ashton... I'm sorry."
"I thought you liked me." He spoke so softly I could barely hear him.
"I do Ashton, I honestly do."
"Then why can't we be together? Natalie I've liked you for such a long time when you didn't even know I existed, do you know how hard that is? And now that you know I exist and you say you like me but you won't date me... Why?" Tears were brimming Ashton's eyes as he spoke.
"Ash.. I just can't."
He started crying now. "I'm not good enough am I?" He started to get up and walk away.
"No ash." I said trying to get his attention.
"Just forget it Natalie."
He started walking out the door.
"ITS BECAUSE IM SCARED ASHTON."
He stopped and closed the door.
"I'm terrified of being in a relationship with you because I cannot see myself with you, I cannot see myself being loved by you Ashton. Have you even seen me? Seriously take a look at me. I'm scared that you've built this fake view of me and if you even saw a glimpse of the real me you would leave. I'm scared I would lose you. I'm scared you would see me for who I am and you would become disgusted. I'm afraid you would one day wake up and see myself how I see myself, because if you did see me for who i am Ashton... You would be disappointed." By now I was a crying mess.
As I was crying I felt Ashton wrap his arms around me. "I would never leave you no matter what you were like. You're such a beautiful person inside and out. Don't let that fear hold you back. I promise I'll be there for you. I'll be there when you need me."
I looked up at Ashton and hugged him tighter. "I need you." I said softly.
He smiled and whispered back "I need you too."
