Sadie was not happy about the date.

"You agreed to do what with him!" She yelled once I told her why she couldn't come over tommorow night. We were sitting in my room and she had asked if she could sleep over tomorrow.

"Calm down it's not as if he's going to sell me into slavery." She mumbled something about "not yet" and I ignored her. "Whats your problem with him anyway?" I ask. She looks away. "You're impossible!" I yell giving up.

"Just promise me one thing." She says looking me in the eye.

"Anything." I say, exasperated.

"Let me come."

"What! No!" There was no way I was going to let her chaperone me on a date! "Besides you don't even like him."

"You don't understand!" She yelled as a look of desperation came over her face. "You can't be alone with him! I don't trust him." I was appalled.

"I don't care if you trust him or not. It's not your decision if I go or not so give up trying! I don't need you to protect me!" A look of hurt came over her face but quickly turned into a look of worry.

"Look. I just don't think it's a smart idea to go out with some one you hardly know."

"But thats the thing." I said quietly. "I feel like I do know him." Sadie scoffed.

"Trust me if you did know him you wouldn't be going out with him." I looked over at her. She was staring into space with a hurt look on her face.

"You never did tell me your story with him." Sadie snapped out of it. She shook her head.

"Dosen't matter anymore. It was a long time ago."

"That dosen't explain anything." I exclaime exasperated. "What really happened?"

"I can't tell you." She said, looking away suddenly.

"Come on! Since when are you keeping secrets from me? Please? Pretty please?"

"I CAN'T!" Sadie yells. She had never yelled at me before and I flinched backwards. "I'm sorry I just can't." Then she got up and left the room. While I sat stunned on my bed.
