She was a river
Who flowed through hurdles
Oh yes, they did stop her
At least they tried to
But she did not
Because she was a river.
The light of dawn
Fell upon her
She looked up and smiled
Many wounds did agonize her
But she made herself believe
That she,
Did not have any
Because she was a river
a flower
a woman
a person
a man
the earth
who flowed through the hurdles
which did try
to stop her.
