CHAPTER 4. - MYSTERIOUS GIRL

1st of September 1975, Hogwarts Hospital Wing

"And umm Professor, what's her name?" asked Remus cautiously.

"Well umm... You see... Her name is... Umm..." stammered McGonagall.

At that precise moment, the mysterious girl on the bed stirred and groaned softly.

Sirius was by her side at once and gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face. She was truly pretty, admired Sirius. Her face, illuminated by the moonlight that shone from the windows of the Hospital Wing, looked so calm and serene...

Suddenly, a strange golden glow started to surround the mysterious beauty, her lovely face looked as if it was encircled by a halo. But just as quick as the glow appeared, it disappered just as quickly...

"What the fuck was that?" exclaimed James.

"Language Mr. Potter!" barked McGonagall.

"English!" grinned James.

The rest of the Marauders sniggered.

"Well, I think it's time for all of us to retire to our beds." said Proffesor Dumbledore hurriedly. "I entrust this girl to your care Poppy! Good night!"

"But Headmaster, you didn't tell us her name!" pressed Sirius.

"Silence Mr. Black!" barked McGonagall again.

But Professor Dumbledore turned to look at him and smiled. "I'm sure she will tell you in person once she wakes up. Good night!"

"And make sure you go straight to the Gryffindor common room!" warned McGonagall. "I don't want to catch any of you out of beds again."

Just as they were about to turn around and leave, Sirius noticed something. Bellow the covers swelled the soft curves of her breasts. And he noticed a rather fresh looking scar at the top of her left breast, just about where her heart would be, certain that it hadn't been there before. What was peculiar was not the scar itself or its' placement... It was its' shape - a lighting bolt. He nearly gasped.

"Professor!" exclaimed Sirius again. "Her scar-"

"Leave!" McGonagall nearly shouted. "Now!"

"Can I finally see to my patient now?" inquired Madam Pomfrey, arms crossed across her chest and a frown on her face.

"Of course you can Poppy! And as I said good night!" said Dumbledore.

"Boys! Out! Now!" glared McGonagall.

The Marauders scrambled out of the Hospital Wing quickly.

"Do you have any idea who that girl might be? Or where she comes from?" asked a slightly breathless Sirius.

"I dunno." said Remus equally breathless. "I wish we knew..."

Peter rolled his eyes at that comment.

"Well are we all wizards or not? Why don't we just check the map?"

"Wormy you are a genius!" beamed James at the now slightly sheepish Marauder. "I would have never thought of that!"

Peter grinned.

"I know right! Brilliant, eh?" said Remus, ruffling Peter's hair.

They took out the map quickly and eagerly.

"I solemnly swear I am up to no good!" said James hurriedly.

As the map opened, their eyes scanned anxiously across the parchment until they found a name they didn't recognise in the Hospital Wing.

"There she is!" pointed Peter excitedly.

"This must be her..." whispered Remus.

"You're right..." continued James.

"Margaret Wells..."

Her name came from Sirius' lips like a prayer. What a lovely name, he thought.

"Mischief managed!"

Satisfied with what they found out, the Marauders finally headed to the Gryffindor common without a word, as they all recalled the events of the night. As they silently headed towards the Gryffindor common room through the many hallways and corridors, they all imagined the portal again. When they were finally in their dormitories, they all wondered what it must be like studying in North America at Ilvermony. Once they were in their beds with their curtains drawn around them, they all wondered how the poor girl must be doing. And they all fell asleep one by one, until Sirius was the only one left awake. He lay in his bed, worried for the girl, the girl he vowed to protect. As he was falling asleep, his thoughts once more drifted to the mysterious beauty who now lay hurt and unconscious, before he succumbed to slumber...

Margaret Wells...
