...a party? But it wasn't a party. It was only Draco. The Astronomy Tower around them had transformed to look like a magnificent ballroom. There was a buffet of food and drinks, as well as enchanted candles as far as the eye could see. There were rose petal scattering the ground, making the room seem magical. Well, more magical than it was, that is. And then there was Draco. He stood in the middle of the tower, a rose in one hand and a glass in one hand (another enchanted next to him to stay at his side). He was dressed in white dress robes and had styled his hair more than normal. When he saw Harry enter the room, his face lit up. He began to blush as he saw Harry look around in amazement at the place surrounding them. He and Harry made eye contact. Draco could see Harry's pupils expand and knew his own were doing the same. He knew Harry would love this.
"Hi." Draco said, walking towards Harry.
"Wow. Hi." Harry was still amazed. Everything looked so precious and perfect. He already never wanted this moment to end. "What is all this?"
"Well, I know you said that we couldn't go to the Yule Ball because you were afraid to come out, so I figured, let's have our own ball tonight. I have music to play and we can just be with ourselves. Make it special." Draco handed Harry the rose as he spoke, which Harry turned over in his hands, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. "And," with a whisper of a spell and a movement of his wand, Harry was now in his own dress robes, "now we are both dressed for the occasion."
Harry was overjoyed. He never thought anyone could dare to care this much about him. It made him feel special. Wanted. Loved.
"Dray...just..wow. Thank you so much for all of this." Tears now fell from the boy's green eyes. But these weren't tears of sadness. They were tears of joy. Of happiness. Of contentment. He hadn't felt this feeling in what felt like forever. Draco wiped the tears from his cheeks as they fell, cupping his face gently. He two boys shared a soft kiss. They felt like the world around them was just for them. Just like this night. Only intended for their enjoyment.
The two boys spent their night drinking and partying, sharing small kisses, and holding hands. They had never felt happier in their lives then they had felt in that one moment. Towards the lull of the night, a slow song began to play on the enchanted record player (it had been playing music all night).
"May I have this dance?" Draco asked, looking at Harry.
"You may." Harry smiled lightly. He put both of his arms around Draco's neck, causing him to look up at the slightly taller boy. Draco places his hands gently on Harry's waist, pulling him closer. Harry slightly boosted himself up to peck Draco's lips, and (a/n: LIKE THE BOTTOM HE IS) cheekily pulled away quick. Draco only responded by kissing him again, which Harry then melted into and couldn't pull away from. The music and the closeness made it all the better. When they broke away, Harry places his head on Draco's shoulder as they swayed back and forth to true beat of the music. They danced to various muggle slow songs, Harry never lifting his head and Draco never letting go of the boy. It was rearing midnight when Harry yawned.
"Tired?" Draco asked.
"A little bit. But I don't wanna go. I like being here with you." Harry nuzzled into Draco's shoulder. He never wanted to let go. He wanted to stay in his arms forever.
"Well I have an idea then." With a flick of his wand, Draco transformed their dress robes and the ball room setting, to pajamas and a calm, peaceful tent looking out at the stars. "Come?"
"Of course." Harry let himself be pulled over to the test, made to their liking. Draco pulled him down and let Harry snuggle back into him. He loved this and he didn't even want to think of going back to the Gryffindor tower. "I don't want to leave."
"Well," Draco started, "we can stay here tonight if you'd like. I mean, if you're comfortable sleeping in the same bed as me. Well not a bed but you get what I mean."
"I'd like that Dray." Harry leaned into Draco more, loving the boy's touch against his skin.
The two boys remained enlaced with each other as they slowly drifted off, first Harry then Draco. They were sound asleep as the sun rose on the horizon next day, as they lay with the hands together and limbs intertwined. They were content. But would that last long?
