I was seven at the time. Way too young. Way too innocent. Way too... Curious. My family isn't normal, if you haven't already guessed. But now that you think of it, who has a NORMAL family?
No one. That's who. My mother, however, exceeded un-normal. Besides her grey eyes, white hair, and ability to heal anything, she was the ideal woman. Who didn't want a wife that had the ability to levitate anything? Well, one night, my mother just wasn't getting along with my father, Grimm.
My father is a broad man, with a burly face and chest, but his heart is kind; a gentle giant. My mother stormed off in a rage and took me with her, her hair flaming bright blue, like it always did when she was angry. She put me in my car seat, and hopped in the driver's side, pulling out of the driveway.
I remember seeing my father's caring eyes as he tried to stop us, but my mother was already convinced that the right decision was to leave. We drove until we were out of gas, in a deserted patch of highway, and my mother cursed as she hit the steering wheel, then set her head down.
A white van pulled up beside us, and two men, in black armor like suits approached us. I stood still, watching them. My mother's hair was still flaming. The men set up a laser like device and put it up against the window. The tap on the glass that it made made my mother look up, and when she did, she backed away. But it was too late.
Bits of debris shattered my way, obscuring my mother from view. When the dust cleared, the van was gone, and my mother was laying lifeless in front of me. Her hair had gone out.
A few hours later, my father arrived, for I had called him on my mothers phone. He picked Mother up, and put her in our car. Then picked up me, and wiped my tears.
We dug a grave when we got back, and ever since then, I've had my signature white hair strand. It flames blue when I get a strong emotion, and my mothers story lives within me.
