"Wow, they smell really good Y/N!!" Mamoru excitedly complimented as he popped his head to the kitchen. Y/N placed the pot of soup onto the dining table. "I'm glad you invited me to eat dinner with you hehe, I'd be missing out so much if you didn't."

"Well, I'm glad you helped me out with the side dishes." Y/N smiled. "Take a seat, Mamoru" Mamoru took a seat across her like she told him to.

"Is it that good?" Y/N chuckled as she take a spoon herself. Having someone over to her house feels really great. It had been so long since the last time someone came to her house. It felt really lonely.....

"If everyone knows you're a great cooker, they'd want to be friends! You'll be so popular I might need to keep you to myself." Mamoru said in between chewing.

"What are you talking about silly?" Y/N laughed. Totally dismissing the fact that Mamoru could be serious about what he had said. They had a great time however.

After dinner, Y/N accompanied Mamoru to the gate and bid him a goodbye. Y/N closed the door behind her and smiled a bit. She had so much fun with Mamoru. He is such a good friend.

"Oh, I'm sorry.. I didn't know your parents died..." Y/N felt warm after she explained to Mamoru why her parents weren't home. He might be the only person in her class to know that her parents were already gone.

"It feels so great to have friends around you.. I wonder if Toshio can be that kind of friend?"

Screams.

Are what awaken him. Toshio jumped out of his bed and pulled the knife from his nightstand. The screams he just heard were his nephews'. And it came from downstairs. The clock showed that it had already passed 2 in the morning. And it was eerily quiet after hearing the screams. Toshio slowly advanced to his bedroom  door without even making a sound. He put his ear on the door to listen what was going on on the outside. A breath escaped from the lips that belonged to none of his family and Toshio wasted no time and plunge the knife through the door before pulling it back. A pained grunt were heard almost immediately. Toshio twisted the doorknob and pulled the door only to have someone  collapsed onto his feet and two guns pointed at him.

He put his hands up in the air as two people held a gun each pointing towards his head. "Drop the knife." One of them ordered. Toshio tightened his grip instead. "I said drop the knife—" Toshio kicked one of the guns away but a bullet hit his shoulder. The shot immediately paralyzed his whole right arm and he could only bulldozed on one attacker. Toshio ran to the downstairs where he was met with Yua, Aki and Aoi unconscious on the floor. There was a pool of blood beneath them and he didn't know whose was it. There was a man standing right in front of them and he recognised who it was.

"Brian." Toshio growled as he clutched onto his wound. The big man Brian glanced over Toshio with a surprised look.

"Oh, Toshio Aoyama! What a great surprised!" Brian laughed, smiling in amusement at the wounded boy. "Your father really is good at hiding his family isn't he? But unfortunately, he's not good enough." Brian taunted. He then noticed the two henchmen climbing downstairs bringing the body of their ally. "Hm, I guess you still have it. The skills. Pfft— who am I kidding? You're the Aoyama twins!"

"What do you want? Why did you come here?" Toshio growled at the bigger man. Brian sighed softly as he gave the boy a smile.

"Kuro. It's that simple. All he need to do is to follow us and meet Boss." Brian said. "Where is he?"

"I don't know." Toshio lied, he gripped tightly on the knife. He glanced back at Yua and her sons. They were unconscious and he didn't know if they were all injured. They haven't found Kuro yet, that's a good news.

"Wrong answer Toshio. I ask you again, where's Kuro—" Brian's word got cut off as a knife plunged into the side of his neck. The man glared to his side to see Kuro standing ‌in the kitchen with cold eyes. "Y-You bitch..." Were his last words as he‌ dropped unconscious on the floor.

"What took you so long to kill him?" Kuro glared at Toshio.

"To give you the chance." Toshio shot back.

"I already have the rest killed. We need to clean this house before running away, I know a place." Kuro said walking up to Yua. "Yua, you can open your eyes now."

As told, Yua opened her eyes and a grunt immediately escaped her mouth. She pulled her hand from the wound she kept clutching on earlier. "Aki and Aoi were knocked out, there would be bruise at the back of their neck for sure. They must have been shocked and terrified..." Yua smiled sadly, brushing Aoi's hair from his face. "Ugh, this need stitches. I'll tell Papa we were attacked tomorrow. I'll sort out the other things, you just need to find us a shelter Kuro."

"Understood." Kuro replied and walked to the dead Brian as Toshio stared at the floor, contemplating. It would be dangerous if he go to school tomorrow but he wanted to say goodbye to Y/N because after tomorrow, he wouldn't see Y/N anymore. Even though they never talked that much, he felt that connection like she was meant to be his. She was meant for him.

"Toshio." Yua called in a stern voice. She was picking up both Aki and Aoi. "Help Kuro clean the bodies." Yua said. She was limping when she carried her sons. As she walked passed Toshio she paused her step. "You need training." She said and exited the house. Toshio curled his fists as he always heard that from his father. It made him to feel like he was never enough. With a heavy sigh, Toshio walked to the storeroom and grabbed a mop and a lot of bleach.

A few months later,

Y/N stared blankly at the sky. It had been months since she heard Toshio transferred to another school. It rumoured that he was kicked out. Both Toshio and Kuro left. Its not like they were that close to each other but Y/N found it to be unexpected and shocking, probably because Kuro only spent a couple of days in their high school before transferring again. What made things even worse, Mr.Moriyama was found dead in his apartment and she lost her job as a waitress. She couldn't contact her ex-coworkers to even tell them the news.

Next month would be their graduation day, and she felt a little lost. Everything felt like out of place and she didn't even understand why. "What are you thinking?" Mamoru asked as he raked the girl's hair from her face. Y/N glanced to meet eyes with Mamoru, she was lying on his lap the whole time. At least he was there for her. Mamoru confessed to her a month ago and they've been dating ever since.

"I'm thinking about a lot of things." Y/N said. She lifted her head, much to Mamoru's distaste. "Also, we would be away from each other after graduation, how would we keep this up? Would you still be faithful to me?" Y/N frowned at him. Mamoru grinned happily.

"Of course, Y/N. You're the only one I love." Mamoru reassured. 'Trust me, Y/N. I love you more than you think.'

"I promise."
