Chapter 2

5 DAYS LATER

On one of our "missions" as Alex says
Gwen had found instructions on how to make the cure, the instructions said to first head for Washington and that's where we are going.

SEVERAL HOURS LATER

We came upon a large horde heading through a city.

The monsters were headed towards a girl maybe around Hannah's age and an older boy.
"Are we going to help?!" Hope whisper yelled.
"Yeah, let's go." I said running at the small horde, baseball bat in hand.

While Hope, Alex, Sydney and Sage were firing their guns, the rest of us were bashing skulls in left and right.
The job was done in no time.

"Hey, that was cool!" The girl said
"Thanks, looked like you guys needed some help." I smiled. "Let me introduce the group, I'm Avery this is Sage, Skylar, Gwen, Echo, Sydney, Hope and Alex." I pointed to each one.
"Hey!" They all said waving.
"Hi." She said quietly
"You don't have to be shy, I was the same way. It'll get easier." I said big sister like.
Before I could go on the boy smiled saying "hey." I smiled and nodded in return.
"Do you guys have a car?" I asked.
The girl nodded and replied "where to?"
I smiled slightly and told them about Gwen's instructions she found.
The girl then looked at the boy with bright eyes and let out a little giggle. "That's where we are headed to now! We were also going because of the cure." She said.
"Well what are we waiting for?" I said climbing into the back seat of the truck.

The rest of the group followed behind squeezing themselves in one by one.
"You know, some of you could've sat in the very back?" I said pushing Echo off of me.
"Off to Washington.." The girl sighed.

"So, what are your guises names?" Sydney blurted out.
"Sheesh, Syd. Haven't heard you talk in forever" I said jokingly.

"Anyway, what are your names?" I continued
"I'm Zeus" the boy waved his hand from the drivers seat.
"And I'm Liza!" The younger girl replied turning around from the passengers side.
"Awesome! How old are you guys?" Sage smiled and giggled.
Liza answered first "I'm 13."
"I'm 18 " Zeus smiled "What about you guys?"
"Well I'm 16, Echo is 15, Gwen is 14, Sage is 15, Skylar is 13, Hope is 15, and Alex is 17."
"Well I'll see you in the morning." Alex said falling asleep
"Wait what?" Liza said making a confused face.
"Don't mind him, he is a dork." I said sticking my tongue out at Alex.
"Don't do that!" He laughed "I do it better."
Alex and I spent about ten minutes making weird faces at each other before Liza had pushed up her nose and started making pig noises at us.
We all laughed.

The laughter soon ended however when Zeus mentioned zombies.
I peered out the window and he was right.
We had come upon a small town called Odin, Nevada.
There were monsters everywhere.
"Can you drive through?" Liza asks Zeus.
"Not sure." Zeus replies puzzled
"Can we try?" I said getting my knife ready.
"I think so." Zeus says stepping on the gas.
"Drive fast but careful." Liza says worriedly
"Got it." He says moving faster.
"It's a good thing we're all wearing seatbelts" I say sarcastically "Liza, do you have yours on?"
"I do now." She says putting her hand thumbs up
"Let's go." I say nervously

When entering the city we found a two boys named Peter and Josh.

"Should we let them join?" I ask everyone
"Yes." Alex says immediately.
*everyone stares at him*
"I'm not sure." I blurt out "how do we know they're safe?"
"We don't, but they need a ride to Washington. We trusted you." Liza whisper yells.
"That's true." Zeus say nonchalantly
"Okay" I say leaving the group to talk to the boys.
"Okay, we have agreed to let you come." I let out
"HURRY THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING!" Hope screams.
"Let's go, let's go!" I yell pushing everyone into the truck.
"Well we made it." Josh says
"Yeah, that could have been bad." Peter replies

"Well you're welcome." I say sternly
"S-Sorry, thanks." They both say unison.

We all introduced each other and gave our ages.
Josh and Peter are twins, they are both 17.
"Nice to meet you." Alex says shaking their hands.
Just then we hit a bump and Alex lands on Peter. They both blush, this made Liza and I laugh.
"What should their ship name be?" I say to Liza, who is wiping away tears from laughing.
"I don't know but we'll figure it out." She says laughing again.

"Welcome to the group boys." I smile and nod.
