after talking about our families, school and almost everything in between we are finally at jessie's. i go to get out. "wait!" he jump out of the car and runs around to open my door. "thank you." i laugh as he shuts it behind me. we walk inside of the diner and get into a booth. "have you ever been here?" i ask him. "i haven't but everyone tells me it's really good, what do you usually get?" i look down at the menu. "i usually get the chicken tenders because i'm just that kind of person," i laugh "but the burgers are really good." i say as he looks at the menu. a waitress who looks around 45 years old walks up. her hair was dyed blueish and was shoulder length. she wore blue and pink eyeshadow, with vans. "are you two ready to order?" she asks silently chewing her gum. "i am." i say. "okay what would you like sweetie?" she asks nicely grabbing her notepad. "well to drink i want a dr. pepper. and then i could i get the chicken tenders with a side of ranch." i smile and hand her my menu. "of course hun, and what about you?" she looks at josh.
"i'll have a cheeseburger, no tomatoes please, oh and a coke please." he says as he hands her the menu too. "of course. i'll be back with y'all drinks in a little bit." she smiles and i look up and make eye contact with josh.
"tell about yourself, who's ayden?" he asks. "i cross my legs getting kind of nervous. what if he ends up ghosting me because i'm weird or meet jenny and realized how boring i am. "well, i'm 17 years old, i go to north high school, i'm 5'3 and i play basketball. i have a brother, his name is sam, along with a sister named madison, who just came back from college." i say running out of things to say.
he smiles at me. "so, who's josh?" i laugh as he smiles. "well i'm josh i'm 17, i'm going to north this coming up year, i just moved here, i'm 6'2 and i also play basketball." he smiles. "oh and i have a little brother named jacob." he says. i smile at him. "so maybe i can beat you in basketball sometimes?" i ask him laughing. "i don't know about that i think i'll be the one beating you." he teases me.
we talk about random things until our food comes out. "thank you." i say to the lady as she sets down my food and drink. josh says thank you also. we start to eat and just continue talking.
"i'm stuffed." i laugh looking down at the plate of chicken tenders i just ate. he laughs. "man this place is good, i'm definitely coming back." he says as he graves the check from the waitress. "hey." i say trying to grab it. "i want to help pay." i say trying to grab it. "as a gentleman i think it's right to pay for the first date." he says smiling. i laugh. "let me just pay for my half." i whine. "no." he says holding it above his head. "fine i'll get the tip." i say as i set down 15 dollars on the table. we leave the diner and josh opens the door for me. i jump in and he drives me home. we get to my house and he walks me up to my doorstep. "i had a really nice time." i smile at him looking at his eyes shimmering in the moonlight. "i had a really nice time too." he smiles at me. next thing i know his face is moving closer to mine. he gives me a quick kiss before pulling away. i try to control myself from turning into a tomato. "goodnight ayden." he says smiling. "goodnight josh." i say flustered and open the door and get in my house. "what just happened?" mads asks. i jump not realizing she was right there. "i just went to dinner with a friend it's not a big deal." i say hiding my red face. "you do realize we have a ring doorbell ayden." she says smirking. she grabs her phone as i run to my room. a minute later i hear her scream. "ayden grace lewis i swear to god who is he!" she runs to my room. "just a guy i met." i smile as i pack my bag for charlis house. "just a guy!" she screams. "you kissed!" "okay." i shrug smiling. i change into some comfy clothes.

i put on my shoes and run out of the house screaming that i'm leaving. mads just stays in shock as i get in my car and drive to charlis. i text them i'm at the house and they open the door. "what happened?!" addison asks. "what?" i say confused grabbing my backpack. "did you guys kiss?" dani asks. "maybe." i laugh and run inside to charli and kenz. "ayden grace come here! i want details!" daniella screams. "no!" i yell as addison and kenz tickle me." "tell us!" charli says as she get the cheetos. "okay we just mainly talked the whole time and then when we were at my doorstep he kissed me but that's it." i blush. "no way!" they all scream. "i'm a matchmaker." charli says flipping her hair. i laugh as we get the snacks.
we decide to watch disney movies. it was like four am and we decide to make a tik tok. we do a dance to doja cars song say so but with kim kardashian's voice. we laugh as charli posts it.
i fall asleep on top of kenz and dani while watching mean girls.
